Thrilled to have 6 fantastic pages out across Europe in the March edition of Ibiza Live Report Magazine - a 100 page popular & juicy Mag, Gracias Dieter, Katja, Julie and the whole team @Ibizalivereport for the editorial, selecting & highlighting my Art to represent Ibiza in this issue. The magazine originally distributed for the German speaking International community across European countries with a love of Ibiza is now also printed and distributed in Spanish & Dutch to extend the country & reader reach. This month's issue has also been presented at the huge 3 day ITB Berlin - the world's leading travel trade show. Its available throughout Europe in select bookstores, all major airports, train and travel stations & worldwide as an emagazine. 🎨🎨🎨

Exposició Col-lectiva Ibizartguide 17th edition in Jesus, Ibiza, in the amazing Jesus Cultural Centre for Arts - Such a huge well lit Gallery space! That same day I flew out to Belgium for the exhibition in Antwerp so I wasn't able to see it packed with art lovers & community at the opening - but it was yet another great success & I was extremely happy to finally show 'Queen of the house' 'Reina de la Casa' in this bustling exhibition for all to see whilst surrounded by such a talented pool of Ibiza & Formentera artists work. Huge thanks to the organisers & the whole Ibizartguide team for their tireless work putting it all together, also my friend @patboned for sending me a few videos & snaps as things kicked off. 🍾❤️🎨

Success!!!!🎨🎨🎨🤩😍 & a Huge Day for the Opening in Antwerp, what a Spectacular City!!! The highly esteemed Gallery - Epreuve d'Artiste was jam packed with people inside and out, I was non stop talking about my Series of Lino Cut Relief Prints on the wall inside which had it's own cheeky twist to the 'Rhythm of Lace', with that many deeply interested art passionate, friendly fantastic people in the studio where they were on display. As red stickers popped up on pieces I had a smile from ear to ear!!! We were opened officially by the Ambassador of New Zealand also for the United Nations & NATO here in Belgium with her heartfelt speech & were very excited with the support from Zespri & the Embassy!!!! More Great speeches flowed from Chris the gallery owner & my friend & fellow artist Lieve - the Belgium Consulate in NZ who conceived & organized the whole exhibition along with Chris, as did the Bubbles, NZ Wine & Food! The Belgium people with their richness of History, Art, Architecture, the Atomium,Tin tin & delicious Chocolate to say the least one of Europe's largest ports are so incredibly friendly & truly appreciate & embrace all aspects of the Art World & every ounce of it's essence with a passion!!!! As the day started with a brilliant NZ book launch and 200yr celebration of photography which rolled into a beautiful lunch with new friends then the Booming Opening of our exhibition in Epreuve d'Artiste which runs all month, celebrations after had to follow - watch out for that 9.5% Belgium beer thanks Tom & Heirman!!!! ; )))) so all in all it was massive and I'm truly grateful to have the honor of being part of it & having this special time in Belgium...❤️🎨🎨🎨🏆🍾

Arrived in Belgium Friday afternoon! Stopped at the famous Battle of Waterloo site on the way into Antwerp for an unexpected twist, dropped off the bags at the Art Gallery where I'm staying then fished the day with Belgium beers & pizza into the night! Today we were all over the city, stunning day & amazing! - but I'll get to that in another reel. Tomorrow September 6th is our Exhibition themed 'Rhythm of Lace' at - Epreuve d'Artiste, a beautiful gallery in Antwerp, with friend and fellow artist Leive Bierque, who is the Belgium consulate in New Zealand, also Liz Hawker, Nan Mulder & Annemie Raeger. The exhibition is all hand/press print artwork, not giclées of existing paintings, but original work produced solely by printmaking. I've been producing a series of linoleum cut prints especially for it, starts at 3pm exciting stuff.

A Picasso treat for me a few days ago with Elena, Juno & Enzo before flying back to Ibiza visiting Museo Picasso Malaga, Pablo Picasso's home & a beautiful city to walk around. To be millimeters from such a large body of his work, with my eyeballs practically touching the canvases - I could almost feel the paint & brush strokes, the pace, assortment & reason for them being laid down. I was happy as glory checking everything while it was all infront of me, the pics shown are just a taste, & since this year I've been creating a lot with drawings to lino cut hand rolled prints especially for the exhibition in Belgium next week, I was completely surprised walking into one room that was all about his print press, lithographs, wood & lino cut prints so I had a smile from ear to ear. A guest artist had some brilliant feature installations showing as well to enjoy, but my greatest pleasure was to just relate & feel at home running my eyes over each piece of work in the moments I had to be there.

Every summer when it's 40°c outside we fly to Madrid from Ibiza for some -3° indoor snowboarding while the whole city has emptied out and gone to the beach. It's like having a mini mountain almost all to yourself. @snozone_madrid

'Eclipse'

I hope you enjoy this painting, it reflects many elements of these last few Ibiza days & another adventure sailing up this amazing coastline to one of our favorite spots against a strong head wind whipping up the sea all the way for the Eclipse. Anchoring was tricky with the wind swirling around the edge of the bay and swinging us & all the boats in a ballet of sorts then suddenly it just switched off completely! A friendly lady pulled up alongside in a red inflatable, giving us a few extra sets of special viewing glasses she had in perfect timing then raced back to her boat, the food & drinks came out & were we in and out of the water until the eclipse action switched on. Thanks David for taking us up there for a bit of Ibiza gold, the Eclipse & Sunset all together was simply magic, including sailing back into the night. We reached the port under the stars, anchored & headed home happy.... 🌕🌖🌑🌔🌕✨❤️🎨

Espero que disfruten de esta pintura, refleja muchos elementos de estos últimos días en Ibiza y otra aventura navegando por esta increíble costa hasta uno de nuestros lugares favoritos contra un fuerte viento de proa que agitaba el mar durante todo el trayecto para ver el eclipse. Anclar fue complicado con el viento girando alrededor del borde de la bahía y balanceándonos a nosotros y a todos los barcos en una especie de ballet, ¡y de repente se apagó por completo! Una señora muy amable se acercó en una lancha neumática roja, nos dio unos pares extra de gafas especiales para ver el eclipse justo a tiempo y luego regresó rápidamente a su barco. Sacaron la comida y las bebidas y estuvimos entrando y saliendo del agua hasta que comenzó el eclipse. Gracias David por llevarnos allí para disfrutar de un poco del oro de Ibiza, el eclipse y la puesta de sol juntos fueron simplemente mágicos, incluyendo la navegación de regreso en la noche. Llegamos al puerto bajo las estrellas, anclamos y volvimos a casa felices... 🌕🌖🌑🌔🌕✨❤️🎨

I've been involved in a lot of fun one night exhibitions this summer often with two or three other Ibiza artists, Here are just a few mixed pics from the last ones, Thursday nights especially in the San Rafael AMAE Gallery space inside the historic corner building & co-inciding with local artisans closing off the street and celebrating their craft or dance (amazing local ingredient mojito's also!). Aside from International & large gallery showings; these festive but relaxed times with conversations & mixes of paintings on the walls for the public to pass by & enjoy viewing real pieces & the brush strokes involved up close, create a great feeling of community here & being part of another firmly anchored slice of Ibiza's Artistic fabric & legacy. 🎨🎨🎨 taken in Ibiza, Spain by @lucasoulos
