Class of 2025 - Part 3/3Creating this project has been one of the most joyful and healing experiences.The series features my friends from across 10 different countries - including South Africa, Iran, Hong Kong, Mexico, Canada and beyond. Everyone featured here is someone I love, admire, and I’m proud to know. Together, we imagined what school might have felt like if queerness was the starting point, not the exception. This isn’t about rewriting the past. It’s celebrating the versions of ourselves now for the versions of who we were back then. With softness, defiance, and pride. It’s a reimagining of a world where love, identity and belonging are celebrated rather than erased. Thank you to everyone who took part and made this what it is. I really am grateful that I’m surrounded by such an incredible community. 💘 Class of 2025 — Part 2This series is made up of real friends, lovers, collaborators - my very own wife & sister in law are both featured in the yearbook. What started as a portrait project quickly became something more. Photographing my friends like this was a really unique & fullfilling experience. I loved listening to their school stories - most of us grew up miles away from each other (literal oceans in some cases). We laughed, we cried (a little), it was quite an emotional series to put together. We held space for the younger versions of ourselves who never saw people like us on the walls. And for the people we’ve become - who get to take up space now. If any school kids see this - look after your queer friends - based on my experience it’s very likely they’ll grow up to do some pretty cool things. Introducing the Class of 2025 - A Yearbook Reimagined.This time of year has always marked the end of the first month back at school . The fresh start, the nerves, the nostalgia. This portrait series began when I found myself flipping through vintage yearbooks, wondering: how many of those kids were queer, but had no words or space to express it?At the same time, I looked around at the wildly creative, brilliant queer people in my life - DJs, artists, designers, models, musicians - and thought: what if we’d all gone to school together?So I built my own.A fictional queer academy.A sapphic School of Rock.A space to celebrate the versions of ourselves that were missing from the walls back then. This kind of representation is so important with so many of our rights being challenged today. In 61 countries, being LGBTQ+ remains a criminal act - and in 7 of those countries, that criminalisation can come with a death sentence. 🖤 Class of 2025 is a visual love letter to chosen family & created because representation matters. This is Part 1 - the first 8 portraits of the talented, wild-hearted, beautiful souls I’m lucky enough to call my community. New work for designer @hermionedepaula 💫 Hermione designed my wedding veil - a piece deeply meaningful to me. We decided to get married about only a month before the day itself, and Hermione was incredible, hand-sewing a single feather into the embroidery to represent my mother - a beautiful symbol to carry with me on one of the most important days of my life.This shoot is a continuation of that energy, a celebration of emotion, femininity, and the stories we carry.‘Hermione de Paula unveils Orchid Bath- a poetic fusion of couture, conservation, and underwater fantasy.
