If you’re new here, thank you for the follow ❤️‍🔥 I’m Aleksia, I’m from Toronto and I work as a costume film technician for different TV shows/movies in the city. I went to TMU for fashion design and always felt drawn to accessory design. As a student, making handbags and wire jewelry was my form of meditation, being present in my work and disconnecting from reality. During my mat leave, I wanted to reconnect with my present in a different way and returned to pursuing design work. I started out doing whatever felt good: weaving, organizing workshops with friends, a love letter, and eventually moved into something I always felt was too big of a dream —jewelry design. I began designing and working with production partners to build the type of jewelry I couldn’t find for the price point I could afford. And so, Luck and Leo grew alongside my growing family, changing shape and form every single day. She’s designed as good luck, and sent to you like it’s from a friend’s dreamy holiday. I want every package to feel like it’s coming from some place magical, and if you’ve received a piece in the mail lately you probably guessed it, Santorini. Stay tuned for the next postcard series coming soon. 💌

So what’s next? Over the past few months I started learning how to make my own brass and silver pieces, it’s a slow process but soon I hope to have more custom projects on the bench. If you’re interested in my journey and you read this far, follow along and join me for the ride. ✌️

A vintage gift from a Costume Designer I recently worked with, these beautiful earrings were super tarnished and silver cleaner wasn’t doing it! As a big supporter of women in STEM I thought I’d put my lab coat on and get to work 👏 tbh science was not my forte in grade school, but this was easy!

Steps:
-Pyrex glass bowl lined with aluminum foil (shiny side up)
-Place your sterling silver jewelry (no soft stones) and add a little baking soda on top
-Pour over a little boiling water, when the bubbles stop you can remove your piece with tongs!

Watch as all the tarnish transfers to the aluminum foil 🤓 honestly too cool not to share! ✨ by @luckandleo_
