Louisiana is known for its lagniappe, a charming custom of offering a small, unexpected gift that brings immense joy and pleasure. At the Mardi Gras celebration in Washington DC, which I was privileged to attend and be seated in Louisiana Congressman Clay Higgins’ box, we were treated to a callout dance and given a lovely gift. I had the pleasure of sharing a delightful dance with a gentleman from New Orleans and received a stunning Lee Michael’s Jewelers gold bracelet. This experience created a wonderful memory and keepsake from my first trip to Washington DC Mardi Gras. While waiting for their little brother to get out of guitar lessons, these two girls had a fun time practicing their Mahjong skills while learning the rudiments of the game. We played what we call messy Mahjong where you just draw out of the bag instead of doing the Charleston because we had limited table space as we played on the back of a box in the van. They’re enjoying learning the game and always asking when they can play again! by @luckaty.plans

This evening, we celebrated the culmination of a wonderful year with friends in the French Quarter, which proved to be an extraordinary adventure. We were fortunate enough to visit four beautiful homes in and around the FQ, each of which boasted a warm and welcoming ambiance and impressive decorations. At each location, we indulged in delicious appetizers and cocktails, made some wonderful new friends, and reconnected with dear friends we have known for years. #planyourbeautifullife #Nola❤️ by @luckaty.plans

Today we celebrated the Holy Family Mass at @stlouiscathedral in the charming French Quarter followed by a tasty lunch at home.
