Today is my 45th birthday, so forgive me for getting a little reflective for a moment.

I’ve been thinking a lot about time lately, and how differently I’ve viewed it throughout my life.

I spent the first 23 years of my life believing there was always tomorrow.

Then I spent the next 20 believing there wasn’t.

And honestly, both ways of thinking can mess with you a bit.

Because believing there’s always tomorrow makes it easy to put things off. To delay joy. Delay the trip. Delay saying yes. Be selfish and only think about yourself. Delay becoming the person you want to be.

But believing there isn’t always tomorrow can make you carry the weight of life a bit too heavily. Like every moment has to matter all the time. That you need to prepare everyone for a life without you.

Over the last couple of years I’ve realised the best life sits somewhere in the middle.

Tomorrow is always another chance to become a better version of yourself.

But it’s not always another chance to do the things you wish you’d done today.

So lately I’ve been trying to hold both thoughts at once.

Work on myself and our future security like I’ve got years ahead of me.
But love my family and live my life like time is still precious.

I think that balance might be the closest thing to happiness I’ve found so far.

One onion is a minimum of three right? I mean every onion is a different size too. so I always assume one onion is at least two absolutely huge ones. So that means anything for 4-6 or more little ones is acceptable to add. Who’s with me?

Borrowed a bike.
Broke a very small rule.
Found a much bigger Sri Lanka. 🌴🏍️

Two lads from the turtle sanctuary, one questionable decision, and a ribbon of road stretching from Galle up to Akurala — cutting inland over quiet backroads and rolling across the beautiful Wakwella Bridge.

You’re not supposed to rent bikes here…
But it wouldn’t really be me if I followed every rule, would it?
