Rest easy, Big David. 🕊️❤️

Growing up, I always knew him as “Big David.” Not only because he was the oldest David in our family, but because everything about him felt big. His presence. His laugh. And the love he made sure you knew he had for you.

He was two decades older than me, but he always made sure I knew he loved me, and I knew it. ❤️ He had a way of putting a smile on our faces just by being himself.

Now, “Big David” has left a big hole in our hearts.

You were loved right back, Cousin. More than you knew. Rest peacefully. 🕊️🙏🏾❤️

Okay friends and family… this one is personal. 💚

I haven’t shared much about Hemply Made on my personal page, but this journey has become much more than business for me.

Somewhere along the way, I found the entrepreneurial spirit my father instilled in me years ago, and honestly, I need that part of myself right now. For me. For my family. For the future I’m trying to build. 🙏🏾

This journey has also challenged me to learn more about wellness, natural alternatives, and even a plant I once judged and condemned without really understanding.
And through all of that, my faith has not wavered.
Even the name Hemply Made carries that with it. Psalm 139:14 reminds me that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and Genesis 1:31 reminds me that God looked at what He created and called it good.

For me, this season is about learning, growing, creating, and staying grounded while doing it.

So this is my first little step toward sharing more of that journey here. 💚

I hope you know just how much you are loved and appreciated, not just today, but always. You have such a special place in my heart, and I’m grateful for every laugh, every conversation (even the ones that end in I'll call you back and it slips my mind🙃) , every word of wisdom, and every bit of that good old “Mama-Cousin” love you’ve given me over the years. ❤️

I pray God continues to bless you with good health, peace, joy, and many more beautiful years surrounded by the people who love you most.

Deacon Donnell Neal was truly the epitome of a humble servant.

I am blessed to have known him and even more blessed to have had the opportunity to work alongside him. It is rare that you get to work with a local legend, especially one who kept a watchful eye on you during high school and in the neighborhood, and continued to encourage you throughout your adult life.

We even had our own “when your blessings go up, they’ve gotta come down” handshake that I will always cherish. 🙌🏾

Deacon Neal, I will miss your caring spirit, your encouragement, and those impeccable dance moves! Thank you for showing us what it means to serve with humility, love, and faithfulness.

Still soaking in this moment...

On June 18, 2026, I had the honor of serving as a speaker at the Women of Project Management Conference in Charleston, SC, and I do not take that lightly.

Year 4 with WOPM was already special, but sitting on that stage during The Connection Shift felt like confirmation in real time.

I got to reflect on the version of me who walked into her first WOPM conference unsure of what to expect, and the version of me who now understands that rooms like this are not just about showing up. They are about leaning in.

Leaning into connection.
Leaning into growth.
Leaning into the power of proximity.
Leaning into the truth that what you need may already be in the room.

This speaking engagement reminded me that leadership is not just about titles, credentials, or experience. It is also about service, vulnerability, community, and being willing to share the lessons that helped shape you so someone else can see what is possible for them too.

To WOPM, thank you for creating a space where women in project management can be seen, heard, stretched, supported, and celebrated.

To EVERY woman (and man) who spoke life into me, hugged me, encouraged me, or reminded me that I was exactly where I was supposed to be, thank you.

And to the woman I was when I first entered this community, I am so proud of how far we have come.

The shift is real. 💛

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!! ❤️

Looking through old photos today has me all in my feelings.

This season looks different than I ever imagined, and sometimes I find myself missing the daddy I remember so clearly. The barber. The leader. The storyteller. The man whose impact reached far beyond our family and community.

But one thing hasn't changed. To him, I'm still his "Lump"... short for lump of sugar.

No matter how much life changes, I'll always try to be his sweet little girl.🥰

As I've gotten older, I've found myself leaning more and more on the wisdom he poured into me. He taught me how to treat people, how to lead with kindness, and how to be my own biggest advocate. Those lessons continue to guide me every day.

Today, I'm grateful for every lesson, every sacrifice, every laugh, and every precious memory.

Happy Father's Day to all of those who hold the title or have stepped up to assume the role as a father figure! 🙏🏾

What a full-circle moment.

A few years ago, I was sitting in the audience taking notes, making connections, and being inspired by the incredible women around me.

Today, I get to share my own story.

I'm grateful for every lesson, every opportunity, every challenge, every connection, and every person who has helped me get to this moment.

Tar Heel forever 💙🐏

20 years ago today, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and it still feels like yesterday.

What a day. Surrounded by family, friends, love, celebration, and so much gratitude. As a first-generation college graduate, that moment meant everything. It was bigger than me, and I’ll never forget the people who helped make it possible.

My time in Chapel Hill left a mark on me that I still carry into every room I walk into today.

To the Class of 2026: be present. Take the pictures. Build your community. Chase the opportunities that stretch you. It goes by faster than you think.

20 years later, I am still grateful.

Forever grateful. Forever Carolina. 💙
