@sheisamazone - Defibrillator

Prod. By @lucky.keys

One of my favourite productions & funniest studio session I ever did, made me realise again that having fun in the studio brings quality music. We wanted to see with this record how we could involve disco/soul music into carribean R&B, mixing South African log drums with Surinamese drums, big brass sections, different chord schemes and a lot of sounds from nature.

AMAZONE — WHO IS SHE EP OUT NOW

Whole EP Produced by LUCKY KEYS

3 years ago, a young Amazone booked a random studio session with me. No plan, no songs out yet, just a passion for music and a beautiful soulful voice. We made some dope tracks and went our separate ways.

Fast forward, I went to LA, then decided to start fresh and move to Amsterdam 1,5 year ago. The first week there, I barely knew anyone. On my 3rd day I walked into the groceries store and I ran into Amazone. She literally lived a couple blocks away from me!

we started making music again, experimenting with global sounds from Surinam, Jamaica, South Africa, Nigeria, damn we even made a drum & bass track

At first, we were still on the waiting list for the music studio so we had to record in my little home office. Mic in hand, sitting on wooden chairs in a 8 square meter room. That’s how “Grow Apart” was born. Later, we finally got into a proper studio and really brought this project to life.

Producing a full EP from scratch and building a sound with an artist has always been on my bucket list.
Thank you @sheisamazone for trusting me with your vision and letting me help shape your sound.
