BTS “Lilith, Come Home” Indie Horror Film directed by Joshua Neuman, starring @caseycuellar_ playing lead as the character named Ruth.

Question: After this film project, what have you leveled up on?

Casey: I feel like what I’ve leveled up on for this project was trusting my gut and instincts. Previously, I always walked on to set nervous. Even though I would be prepared, sometimes I would be second guessing my choices. Am I making the right ones? Is the thought process I created for my character reading well on camera? This time around I felt very comfortable on set. Part of that has to do with Josh, the director and writer. He writes his characters so well, I felt like I instantly could pick up on what wasn’t being said between Ruth and Lilith. The other part had to do with my previous experience. N-Terro was a heavy project, but it allowed me to come on to set trusting my gut. I know what I can do and what I’m capable of. The imposter syndrome I would sometimes have didn’t show up this time around! It was a great feeling. I’m so excited to see the final cut for this film and I think people are going to absolutely love it. by @lucky13mgmt

JC: BE NICE TO EVERYONE. BE REALLY GOOD AT WHATEVER YOU’RE ASSIGNED to do whether it’s a small part, one line or something bigger. BE Memorable. Get the key contacts info so you can send them thank u notes after. by @lucky13mgmt

Project N-Terro | Starring Casey Cuellar, who plays Tarra

1. What was challenging about this project?

Casey: This has been my most challenging and rewarding project that I’ve been a part of so far. The subject matter is very heavy and needs to be handled carefully. Tarra is someone who struggles a lot with her past trauma and has a lot of emotional wounds that she hasn’t dealt with properly.
I knew I wanted to do this character justice and spent the entire three months working on her inner emotional life and getting to know her as an individual. So as a result, I grew very sad for her and protective. I found that the last day of filming was so challenging for me. Not only were we filming the climax of the entire film, but I felt bad letting Tarra “go”. I felt sad leaving her alone.
I’m so thankful for the intimacy coordinator on set. She sat down with me to work on the emotions I was feeling. Not only did she validate what I was feeling, but was able to help me bring me back down to Earth. I reconnected with myself and felt okay to let Tarra be (for now 😉).

2. What did you have to do to emotionally prep for this project?

Casey: The director, Monique, and the writer, Traycee, were amazing during this time. They were very collaborative with me and were able to give me deeper insight into the lore behind the project. With their knowledge, I was able to go through the script, really break it down, and put my own thoughts/spin into Tarra. I worked hard on connecting scenes together and understanding how Tarra reacts to the world around her. With each scene, I created a memory that would connect me deeper to Tarra. Then I would journal these memories so I wouldn’t forget them, along with putting more detailed thoughts of mine that couldn’t fit on the script. I really marked that thing up, but it helped me so much. by @lucky13mgmt

Congratulations to Filippo Santi for his first on set experience in an indie film 🎥
Q: what did this experience inform you?
Fillippo: it confirmed that this is really what I want to do and am meant to do.
Q: any lessons after this set experience?
Fillippo: you just got to try. Don’t be scared cause once Im there people were complimenting and confirming my presence, my energy, how I was working. Now I know what was stopping me in the past was my mind full of fears, but I also realized once I adjusted my mind to see that I can do it and it’s very possible, I just do it.
Q: what would you say to your younger self five years ago?
Fillippo: just go for it man. You are not less important or less talented than everyone else on set. You just have to believe in yourself. Don’t be scared. Just go 100% for what you want to do.

@__erickataylor__ stars in indie film “Love the Game” written and directed by Larity Rich.

Q1. What was the process like preparing for this role?

Ericka: I feel like the process for preparing for this role was a little bit easy only because these are things I actually experienced in my high school career. In high school I ran track and it was my entire life. My main goal was to get a track scholarship to make it to college and make it out of this small town and really make something out of myself. While doing so I also was going through my first high school relationship my senior year. I had to put myself back in the shoes of my younger self and really dive deep into those feelings, I had to sit and meditate and remember what it felt like to want something bigger as my younger self while also balancing a social life.

Q2. What was your biggest breakthrough while going through this filming journey?
Ericka: I would say my biggest breakthrough was beating my nerves to really put myself in a place mentally to do something I never imagined myself doing. When I say that I mean, I’m heterosexual, and I definitely don’t take charge in relationships in a way that I have to be the person to take initiative , especially when it comes to intimacy AND doing it in front of others watching over and over and over for multiple takes. I was freaking out on the inside lol. So, I would say that was my biggest and hardest break through.

Q3: what advice would you give to new actors preparing for their first lead role?
Ericka: I would say make sure you do the work of breaking down the scenes, remembering what you want out of it (your goal as the character), and have fun during the process! by @lucky13mgmt

@jeremynoelong starring in indie short film, “A Night,” directed by Sangmuk (Muki) Kang, LMU MFA.

Q1: What was exciting about filming this project?
Jeremy: The most exciting aspects were filming entirely at night in Downtown LA and very challenging long takes or “one shots.” The complex sequences (choreography, camera, performance) had to be executed perfectly in a single take.

Q2. What was challenging?
Jeremy: The challenging part was keeping my performance consistent and energized throughout the night, especially given the technical complexity. Since we were shooting long takes, I had to remember specific physical choreography and all the lines while also incorporating notes from the director and maintaining the emotional throughline of the character. We also had the challenge of external factors and managed real-world elements like people walking into the frame or city noises, which required constant focus and flexibility to get the perfect shot.

Q3: What did you have to do to prepare for this role?
Jeremy: I only had three days to prepare, so my process was extremely focused. First, I analyzed the script and memorized my lines, making sure I understood my character’s motivation and objective. I then focused on building the emotional depth by drawing connections between the character’s internal struggle and my own experiences. The table read with my co-star was also crucial, as it allowed us to gut check our dialogue and interaction before stepping onto the set, ensuring I was aligned with the director’s vision.

Q4: What were some takeaways playing lead in a short film indie movie?
Jeremy: My biggest takeaways relate to being proactive and maintaining good communication in a fast-paced environment:
🍿Always take the opportunity to rehearse or run lines when there’s downtime. That readiness saves time and energy when the camera is rolling.
🍿If you’re unclear on a director’s note, gut check with them immediately to ensure you fully understand.
🍿Patience is key during any shoot, but you also have to anticipate and always be ready to jump into action. Your mental prep and camera readiness is as important as the performance itself. by @lucky13mgmt

@caseycuellar_ 🌟 starring in indie film 🎞️ “Jumpman,” directed by Lloyd Tunstill. Her character’s name is Lisa.

Q: What was fun about this project?
Casey: “What was fun for me was that it was my first horror project. I was so excited to finally get to create something in the genre I want to navigate my career towards.”

Q: what did you have to do to prepare for this role?
Casey: “I had to prepare for the role with lots of day dreaming on what it would be like to lose my love interest in this project even if my character didn’t partially care for him and then of course having to run for my life after his killer is chasing me.”

Q: What were some challenges?
Casey: “What was challenging was that I was healing from laryngitis which I had never gotten before, so I couldn’t scream due to that. It really upset me when filming was coming up so I had to really show my fear in my reactions through other ways.” by @lucky13mgmt
