I’ve started writing again. About having people over, keeping a house, making things, buying things, cooking things, and occasionally getting it all terribly wrong.

Ideas shamelessly stolen from the best hosts I know, mostly by being their very happy guest. 💓

The stocked medicine cabinet is my particular favorite. A quick trip down the CVS travel-size aisle and nobody has to ask for a toothbrush in their pajamas. Toothpaste, razors, a shower cap, Advil and a spare phone charger: help yourself.

Save there. Splurge on beautiful little soaps, lovely shampoo and conditioner, towels and sheets. My most luxurious sheets live in the guest room. A throw for naps.

Water by the bed, flowers, a candle, chocolates. Somewhere to unpack. A hairdryer they can actually find. A fluffy bathrobe behind the door, another blanket for cold nights in the bottom drawer. Extra credit for current magazines and fresh seasonal fruit. Extra extraaaa credit for hot water tucked into the foot of the bed on super chilly nights...

Make yourself completely at home. Please don’t move in 🤣😘
