The nights are drawing in - it might still strangely warm for mid October, but in my house, autumn is well and truly on the way 🍂 with lots of cups of tea, dreaming of making jam (I’d never actually make it - everyone who knows me knows I’m terrible at cooking 😂 ) and film nights. Already looking forward to lighting the fire! Small pleasures in life - weekends when both my boys are home and the house feels full again, curling up with a book on the sofa with the dogs on our laps. 💛

Our 17th century Cotswold cottage project - seen all together and as a whole! Our client became a dear friend which made working on this the biggest pleasure. This house works beautifully in all seasons but when the weather is turning and there’s a slight chill in the air I can’t help but picture happy weekends spent here.

Our signature abundance of colour, texture and pattern can be seen throughout. Full project on House & Garden (link in bio) 💛 have a happy weekend everyone! Lucy xx

Love this house - on the cover of House & Garden this month 💚 the Chelsea townhouse belonging to Celia Weinstock and Max Benitz - designed by @guygoodfellow. You’d never know it was in London!

Some of my favourite bits: the dramatic central hall with a marble fireplace, bookshelves, hidden cupboards and a sweeping stone staircase; the inherited furniture and art woven throughout; flashes of unexpected pattern and an overall English country-house aesthetic. So clever!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone - I can’t believe it’s already October! 🍂

Kitchens are a joy to design - over the past 20 years or so they have become a central part of family life, somewhere to gather and chat over cups of tea as well as cooking, preparing and eating, flopping after a long day. It’s so important for them to be a reflection of the owners. When we started this project, our clients had one clear idea: the kitchen wallpaper was to be a favourite of theirs - @wmorrisandco ‘Wallflower Woad’. It’s fabulous and a lesson that kitchens don’t have to have plain walls. The main kitchen leads on to the dining area with a banquette (just seen). Overall this space feels immensely comfortable and cohesive.

Have a very happy weekend! The sunshine continues ☀️

You might have caught this on my Sunday stories “10 things we’ve loved this week” - the London townhouse belonging to @finfellowes. I adore it! ✨

Fin returned to her childhood home in Chelsea with her family and totally updated it. With the help of architect @hackettholland and her sister in law @beataheuman, Fin has transformed it into a richly layered Victorian townhouse - and the perfect testing ground for her first wallpaper collection @thekensingtonpaperie. Completely different, yet exactly the same as the house she grew up in💫

I met Fin a few months ago and she told me about her paper lampshade collaboration with @nushkahome - I also love these 💡

The one piece of advice I’d give someone tackling their first interiors project…

Look at the difference! The second image - and the final decision - looks much more elegant and considered (rather counter-intuitively!). Other ways to avoid overly matchy schemes: mix old and new: add one piece of dark furniture in a light or contemporary space; don’t choose furniture in sets - two different chairs can sit happily with a different sofa; choose varying textures - throw in something unexpected, from velvet to lacquer to aged wood. Most importantly - have fun!!

We take enormous pride in our bedroom designs - these are so important for clients, a space which means a lot to them and which must really tick every box: restful and comfortable above all but must also reflect the owner’s own taste. With spare bedrooms, people are often more daring and say yes to all over wallpaper with a bold pattern, or fabric walling, which they might not want for their own room. We work so closely with each client to make sure it is their dream room! Here are a few from the past few years - such a variety - which is your favourite?

Hope everyone has had a very happy weekend! Monday tomorrow - the exciting, fresh and back to school feeling continues throughout September for me! Lucy xx

A little selection of inspiration images that have caught my eye recently… As the weather starts to turn, some darker and moodier colours sneak in there but I’m still very much holding on to summer 💛☀️ have a happy weekend everyone. Lucy X

1. The most sensational chest and accompanying wall coverings @the.art.of.patina.antiques
2. A gallery wall works just as well in a bedroom as a hallway or reception room. This is perfection @nicolahardingandco
3. Light and airy, what a dream to be surrounded by @guygoodfellowcollection ‘Tigris’
4. The seriously swaggy San Vincente Santa Monica Club, draped in @lamaisonpierrefrey
5. A soothing green corner room at @lelappe_ in Tuscany
6. The most charming and very English interiors in the West Sussex farmhouse of Harriet Anstruther
7. Dogs on beds can be divisive but it’s a yes from me 🐾 😅 @schuylersamperton @schuylersampertontextiles
8. A first look at this heavenly project by @rebecca.hughes.interiors 💚
9. Stripes and florals - always a winner @maisondefrederic deliciousness

The sunlight was streaming through my bedroom window this morning - summer isn’t over yet! ☀️🌞☀️ I have always loved using yellow in projects - this is a favourite from a few years ago now. An oldie but a goodie! And on my mind this morning. We chose @howelondon ‘Pondicherry’ for the fabric walling in this laundry room and took it the whole way with a matching blind and skirt. Swipe for the view looking in from the kitchen with the most fabulous @jennifershortotextiles wallpaper just seen.

Happy Sunday everyone, hope everyone has a happy rest of the weekend. Lucy X

Oh, to wake up in this bedroom tomorrow! The main bedroom at our West Sussex project with the fabulous and clambering @hamiltonwestonwallpapersltd ‘Peony Garden’ on the walls. We sourced the lamps and the cushions from CMDC interiors @marcq.caroline . Then through to the dressing room - wallpaper is @robertkime ‘Basilica Ash’ - with some fabulous antiques: the lamp is @williamwoldscot and a @dominic_everest rug.

Happy long weekend, hope everyone has a lazy morning tomorrow with a cup of tea in bed: how bank holiday Monday mornings should be spent.

More of our West Sussex project, which went live on H&G (link on my stories!) back in May - the summer has rushed past and I realised we haven’t shared all the images yet!

We loved this project and our wonderful clients - it’s such a happy home and feels so peaceful ✨

The first two show the traditional yet light and airy hall spaces - swipe for the study with a glorious @julianchichesterltd chair - curtains and blinds in @thibaut_1886 - you can just see the @antoinettepoisson wallpaper behind the shelving. The final pic is a section of the main drawing room - we chose a contemporary sofa shape to contrast with the traditional elements of the house, in @claremontfurnishing ‘Milano Linen’.

Some of the upstairs spaces at our West Sussex project - one bedroom wallpapered all over in @chelseatextiles ‘Sea Meadow’, another with curtains and blinds in @nicolefabreandcompany ‘Chenonceau’ and two of the bathrooms. This whole project feels so restful, comfortable and serene.

Hope everyone has had a happy weekend - I always love these last weeks of summer before September hits with the back to school feeling! 💫
