The miniature of Leighton House made by @mulvanyandrogers was one of the most exquisite works of art I’ve ever seen - so inspiring - I got home and felt the need to push on with the cabinet house. Sketching out the Baby House needs to be done in detail - after this I can measure and build the room boxes to slide into place - so excited to be creating a cabinet house for all my most precious treasures. The exterior is an antique Queen Anne cabinet from 1715 - so older than my Bath house (1730). What do you do? I make miniatures… Let’s make something ✨ a shaving mirror, razor 🪒 and brush @igmaguildschool with the best teacher @lbtinyminiatures teaching us silversmithing @melissamakesminis @michaelrminiatures - this was back in June in Maine @igmaguildschool - a week of making minis, making friends and making the most of Maine ✨🦞⭐️ Count down to 2027 as I try to decide on my class choices… I’m really hoping a tiny telescope if Linda allows me back in her class (no midnight detention to get things finished!) #miniaturist #babyhouse #bathbabyhouse #minatures #minatures by @lucylean

Come with me to visit the exquisite miniature made by @mulvanyandrogers of @leightonsambournemuseums - 4 years in the making, blood, sweat and maybe tears and the result is one of the greatest miniature ever made - the detail is outstanding - the mosaic, tiles, gold leaf, banisters, lighting - you really can’t tell if you are in the actual Arab Hall or the mini. Kevin and Susie poured their souls into this piece before the addition of the oil paintings from Canada and around the world, furniture, rugs and of course the peacock 🦚 all made by the crème de la crème of miniature artists - @geoffwonnacott @francinecoyon @pajutee_miniatures Sergio Macedo netto to name but a few. It’s now off to its forever home but I feel so lucky to have seen it twice - first @kensingtondollshouse in May and then last week in London at Leighton House with @juliettehoughton65 and @elfminiatures which we planned whilst on our miniature harp making course with Geoff Wonnocott back in May - followed by a wonderful lunch where all we discussed was the house and minis - heaven #miniature #miniaturist #babyhouse #artist taken in Leighton House Museum by @lucylean
