“An achingly honest listen” - Songlines

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I thought I’d take a moment to reflect on all the amazing press that Tell The Water, She Will Listen has received so far 💙

Thank you to 🙏🏻
@obsnewreview @thesun @mojo4music @folkandtumble @americana_uk_ @dekrentenuitdepop @musicjunkiegreg @hilaryswriter @prestomusiccom @aldorabritainrecords @ukvibe #brumbeat @realjcurran @julian_s_powell @sowetokinch @bbcradio3 @theojohnsonuk @bbcwm @folkandcountrynerve @bbcintroducing @brumradio @mondo_jazz

Also thank you @nprmusic for adding it to your Spotify playlists! 🎶

It’s been quite a weird time releasing something so personal into the world that’s taken up such a huge chunk of my twenties. But it’s so fulfilling seeing how the music is starting to make waves and branching out to different countries! 🌊

Top 4 albums of the week in The Observer, 4 stars in the Sun and MOJO are obviously amazing achievements that I’m so proud of - as well as mind boggling comparisons … “I’m reminded of Jeff Buckley in female form” (Folk and Tumble) 😮 However the lovely words from independent reviewers and personal messages I’ve received from people locally and around the world have touched me the most. 🤍🌎

This might sound quite weird to say, but at times it’s all been quite overwhelming and exhausting, and I have felt the need to shut myself away recently as my mind navigates the next steps - most likely the typical post-release burn out!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you listening out there x

You can buy a CD on Bandcamp tomorrow if you wish (Bandcamp Friday has sneaked back around!) 💿

All my love ❤️ Lucy

Escaping it all to the nordics… here I am in a Swedish forest 🌳😌 amongst trees, trees and more trees

The reverb was so beautiful where I sat, but the recording didn’t catch much (bad camera placement on my part), but anyway, thought I’d share a snippet in my happy place x by @lucymellenfield
