SLO&Lompoc, CA!! A post for San Luis Obispo and Lompoc! We only had 20 miles the day we got into SLO which was amazing! We got to our campsite (which didn’t have showers😍, I promise we usually shower) and went right into town! The next day we got up at 4 am to do our 75 mile ride into Lompoc. We had an AMAZING event in Lompoc with @ncrccpc and I got the chance to speak, which was scary but a great experience. Speaking about sex trafficking to a large group was super intimidating but I feel like every day I am growing more confident in speaking to others about trafficking. After that event I really felt like I could get up in front of anyone and speak about the issue we have been fighting! The next morning we got the chance to speak with a survivor and it was an eye opening and powerful conversation. She shared her story with us and we got the opportunity to tell her about pedal and ask her questions. I left Lompoc with a heavy heart but an even greater desire to continue fighting for a world where no one is for sale. by @lucyonabike

BIG SUR!!!! After Santa Cruz/monterey, we biked through Big Sur! People keep asking us what our favorite parts of the trip have been so far and I have been saying the Redwoods but Bjg Sur was amazing! We had no service for days which was honestly really nice. We camped right on the coast so we could hear the ocean as we fell asleep AND we saw a whale 🥹 after a long day of riding (and no showers) we all were in tears over the whale! The days are going by way too fast though because as I’m writing this we are on day 43 which is crazy because I feel like we just started ❤️ taken in Big Sur, California by @lucyonabike

After San Francisco we headed to our campsite which I don’t have any pictures from /: but the next morning we got up and headed to the long awaited Martinelli’s! The Martinelli’s have been hosting pedal teams for the last few years and are quite literally some of the greatest people I have ever met! They hosted a fundraiser for us in their backyard and so many of the amazing people from the Santa Cruz community showed up to support! They were all so engaged and curious about us as riders as well as the issue of sex trafficking. Earlier in the day we got to meet with the DA’s office which was truly so special! We got to share our “whys” with them and ask questions about the work they do. Santa Cruz was an amazing time!!!! by @lucyonabike

San Francisco part 2!! We got to meet one of our community grant beneficiaries @huckleberryyouth and it was amazing! Meeting with organizations who are doing the work on the frontlines is one of the greatest parts about pedal. We got to learn more about the work they do in their community!

so many updates in one because we have had no service!! We had a wonderful rest day where we walked through the redwoods and celebrated cadence turning 24! The redwoods were seriously the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I’m that rest day we also got to go to one of our first events. It was amazing! After our rest day we had to bike a little further inland so we didn’t see the coast for a few days, but finally WE SAW THE OCEAN AGAIN! We also made it to highway one which is a huge deal because that will take us all the way to San Diego!!! YAYAYA ❤️ by @lucyonabike

Day 20: 44 miles! This day was wild because we made it to the REDWOODS! So far this has been one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen! Before we made it to the Redwoods we had a crazy few hours because there was a hill so big we had to take the van over it rather than ride our bikes. Because there are so many of us and the road was so long, this took a solid 2 hours but, it was safer so drive so I’m so glad we did!! by @lucyonabike

Day 19: WE MADE IT TO CALIFORNIA!!!! This ride was one of the toughest rides for me. I struggled to find the energy to make it up each climb but once we got to the California sign it was all better!!!! by @lucyonabike

Day 18: 38 miles! Sixes, Oregon to turtle rock!!! As a team we have definitely encountered some rocky days and the night before this ride was rough but this team is truly the greatest so we pushed through!!! We woke up and headed to turtle rock! It was beautiful and cold by @lucyonabike

Day 17: REST DAY! yesterday we had a rest day with Mj and John and it was so sweet! We woke up, chatted with Mj, and went on an adventure with John. We hiked to see some beautiful views and visited his home that’s ON THE VERY TOP OF A MOUNTAIN. I have truly never seen anything like the Oregon coast ❤️❤️❤️ by @lucyonabike

Day 16: 30 miles! Today was a dream (besides cadence getting bit by a dog and having to go to the ER, she’s all good though). We rode 30 beautiful miles to MJ! MJ has the most beautiful home and the most beautiful heart! She is truly one of a kind! We jumped off our bikes and jumped straight into the beautiful river behind her house! 💙💙💙💙 by @lucyonabike
