POSTS STORIES REELS

It was such an honour to stand alongside all of these incredible women last night. Thank you so much @womeninjournalism_uk for this Woman of the Year award, it really means a lot to us. It recognised the work of @sirin_kale and I on the Noel Clarke investigation and high court trial. As I said in our speech, we want to dedicate it to all the amazing women who came forward then gave evidence at trial for us. Thank you. by @lucyosborne1

We were so honoured to win gold at the British Podcast Awards this week for the Birth Keepers. It means a lot that the series has resonated with so many people. How we choose to birth is an increasingly divisive topic, so we genuinely didn’t know how it would be received. The women who shared their stories did so in spite of this, willing to risk the judgement of others, in order to help inform other families. We are so grateful to them and I hope they know that it has. It was obviously a challenging project to work on but such a joy to work with the team behind it - my incredible reporting partner @sirin_kale and podcast aficionados @elizacasss @lucyijhough Josh and Nicole. Plus the rest of the team: Paul, @rudizyga @olivialeeee40 and everyone else. Thanks @britishpodcastawards ! by @lucyosborne1

When Helen* got in touch with me last year, she had been trying for 20 years to get justice for the horrendous abuse she says she suffered as a 13-year-old at the hands of Christopher Berry-Dee, the UK’s no.1 true crime writer. As an adult she was shocked to read elements of the abuse mirrored in his books that were being read by so many for entertainment. In our latest investigation, @sirin_kale and I discovered Helen wasn’t the only one. Over the past 5 decades, multiple others have sought accountability for his alleged actions, including, most recently, his own daughter. So why is this man still publishing books? And what does it say about the pull of the true crime industry and what we are willing to consume? Link to the story in my bio.

We are so grateful to the women who shared their stories with us. And big thanks to our editors @ruthlewy @meropemills and David Pegg by @lucyosborne1

I am on maternity leave but my brilliant colleague @sirin_kale has continued reporting on FBS with the Guardian’s team in Australia. As well as an excellent piece about the tragic death of Australian influencer Stacey Warnecke following her freebirth attended by an FBS-trained birth keeper, they have recorded an update episode to the Birth Keepers, our no.1 podcast series (link in bio).

It has reminded me to share some of the incredible feedback we got to the podcast, which now feels even more relevant and relatable following the shocking evidence that’s come out of the latest two inquiries into maternity care in the UK. The inquiries highlight, yet again, why women are losing trust in hospitals and in some cases turning to dangerous parts of the internet.

Thanks again to all of those who have listened to the podcast so far and for all positive comments. You can still listen wherever you get your podcasts! by @lucyosborne1

What has felt like both the longest and shortest pregnancy ever - suddenly I’m on Mat leave and about to pop. I’ll probably be doing a lot more sitting down over the coming months, so please send me any recommendations for TV, audiobooks, podcasts! 🙏 by @lucyosborne1

My investigation in today’s Guardian on the modelling boss Faith Kates and her close personal and business relationship with Epstein: further evidence of the paedophile’s deep connections in modelling industry.

Across their nearly 40-year relationship, it seems Kates connected a number of her models with Epstein, raising serious questions for the woman who has been responsible for the careers – and ultimately the welfare – of thousands of young women.

There is no evidence to suggest Kates was aware of Epstein’s offending prior to his 2009 conviction and her spokesperson said she “never put a model in harm’s way by sending them to inappropriate go-sees or meetings”

Thank you to everyone who shared their stories with me. Read it on the @guardian homepage. by @lucyosborne1

Investigations into Daniel and his accomplices are actively progressing in France, with journalists passionately uncovering the truth. The pressing question remains: when will governments and the industry rise to the occasion, ensuring justice for victims and holding predators accountable?

Thanks @lucyosborne1 and @guardian for covering my story and for the opportunity to reach more victims. If you are a victim or a victim of anyone, please reach out to me.
