This year marked the first time in my career that I hit Council at my firm. A milestone that would’ve sounded completely far-fetched to little Lucy walking into this business at 21, almost two years ago.

I know I’ve posted a lot about the awards, honors, and recognitions I’ve been lucky enough to receive this year (& trust me, I’m just as surprised as you are lol), but hitting my first Council & MDRT means something different to me.

If you know me personally, you know the last two years have been a ride personally, professionally, emotionally… your girl was blessed, but she was goin' thru it fr.

I moved to a new city, away from home, started completely from scratch, built a business, studied until late, woke up early as hell, and somehow decided to do all of it at once. Apparently, I like playing life on hard mode. For as exhausting as it’s been at times, and for how much I had to change, I’d totally do it again.

When I first started, I wanted to love this career and make it work mostly because I’m reallll stubborn and refused to accept that I couldn’t. But somewhere along the way, that changed. This past year, I’ve genuinely fallen in love with what I do. I feel aligned, fulfilled, and incredibly lucky to have found something that feels like my calling. (thank you Indeed 🙏🏼 for casually changing the trajectory of my entire life.)

More importantly, thank you to every person, family, and business that has trusted me to be your favorite finance girly. Getting to be part of your lives, goals, businesses, families, and futures is something I’ll never take lightly.

And to my family, friends, mentors, and everyone who has supported, encouraged, taught, listened to, celebrated, and occasionally talked me off a ledge, I know how rare it is to have this much love and guidance behind you. I hope I continue making you proud.

First Council. First MDRT. And somehow, I still feel like I’m just getting started.
