A little over 2 years ago I decided to take a leap of faith and move up to coaching high school baseball. There was an opening at Central Dauphin East High School, and I decided to apply for it. I met that day with Dwan Lee Brittany Robinson Tamira N. Howard Luther Green Jr. among others, and several days later, I was sent an email by Mr. Lee offering me the position. I couldn’t accept it fast enough, and off we went. Our first year we were 3-17, and I learned a lot. Our second year just wrapped up we were 8- 12, and really have the program going in the right direction. As we were filling out our selections for all conference first team, second team, and third team, imagine my surprise when it was brought to my attention that several of the coaches were voting for me for coach of the year. Personally, I’m not sure that I deserve such a title, but then I read what a lot of them said. “The growth this program has shown over the last two years is simply remarkable. You and your staff have drastically changed what this program is doing, and have it going in the right direction.” To read that made me smile and realize how far we have come. It’s about improving this program day in and day out, and continuing to push this program to places it hasn’t been in a very, very long time. I know this award carries my name on it, but don’t get it twisted: my staff is a major factor in why this even happened. To my assistant coach Jason Smith, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do for this program. A lot of people don’t realize the sacrifices that you make, but I get to see it every day. Thank you for being you, and thank you for the voice you bring to this program. To my JV head coach Michael Woodward and his assistant coach Max, thank you for what you guys do at the JV level. Mike, you have an attention to detail and a knack to be several plays ahead that is immeasurable. Trust me when I tell you that it doesn’t go unnoticed. Beyond excited to see what boundaries we can push next year in a new division. Little down time, then time to start getting ready for year #3 when July rolls around. Thanks to everyone that came out to our first summer practice yesterday. Our next practice will be Thursday 30 July. We are moving up the time, so we will be practicing from 6:00- 7:30 on the East Varsity field. Any questions please let me know. Let’s go Panthers!!!!!! by @luiscosenza3

Absolutely crazy where a career in the NAVY can take you. From reporting on board the USS Germantown (LSD-42) as an OSSA to finishing up as an Officer with NAVY Cargo Handling Battalion 8 (NCHB-8). For all my Shipmates that are still serving, please don’t ever, ever let anybody tell you that you can’t go from being Enlisted to being an Officer. I’m living proof that it can happen, and it’s never lost on me how lucky I am that I got to wear the uniform for as long as I did. Hope everyone is having a great week. by @luiscosenza3

We will be at the main field at East from 7:00- 8:30. Please bring all your baseball stuff and make sure you bring a lot of water with you, it’s going to be hot. Was driving around today and saw this. This happened as the storm rolled in. Yes it sucks not having power, but I’m still grateful. My heart breaks for the family who lost their mom and son when a tree came down on their tent at the campground. Stuff like that and the sheer destruction this storm caused makes power loss seem like a walk in the park. Huge thank you to all the men and women working around the clock to bring power back. Good morning, my name is Luis Cosenza, and I’m the head baseball Coach at Central Dauphin East high school. Starting on Thursday 16 July, we are going to start holding non-mandatory practices from 7:00-8:30 pm on the main varsity field. Although not mandatory, you are highly encouraged to attend. We will practice every Thursday after going forward throughout the summer. Anyone interested in attending, please show up with baseball equipment (gloves, catchers gear if a catcher, bat, helmet) and you are ok to wear shorts to practice. Love that this memory came up. The absolute best little league team ever in the history of Costa Rica baseball, sponsored by McDonald’s. 😂 The games that we played against our biggest rivals the Pirates were absolutely epic. By epic I mean that one of them actually included a brawl between the parents, with Conejos dad actually kicking one of their parents in the stomach. The parents brawled, not the players 😂 Hope everyone has an awesome week.El mejor equipo en la historia de béisbol de Costa Rica patrocinado por McDonald’s. Los partidos contra los Piratas eran de las cosas que la gente todavía está hablando. Mi parte favorita era la bronca entre los padres en el partido, donde papá de Conejo le metió una patada a uno de los papás de los Piratas. 😂. Saludos para todos. by @luiscosenza3
