Digital Artist, Painter, and Visual Designer focusing on Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Just “B”

— another day in the sketchbook series.

Driving home with my black lettering studies. Feeling like the doing the whole alphabet even though the insta grid spells out “BARS” vertically 🤭🍻 — what a funny coincidence

However, for a deeper meaning, the BARS just keep on raising from this point on as my confidence level is off the roof with the art taking its’ own helm while imbedded in some solid roots.

There’s a good quote I heard recently that states

“not having a focus is death to an artist”

For a long time I grappled with that quote not because I didn’t want to choose a focus or lacked the self discipline to push boundaries. I simply didn’t see the need for it when curiosity always drove my decision making. However, at this point of the game I’ve come to understand completely the meaning of the quote.

There comes a point where the “art” or the artist’s unique visual language comes to a certain maturity level where it literally begs the artist to continue in commitment to developing said language so that it can exist beyond the artist’s life.

It sounds like crazy talk giving the art a persona. But, it truly explains the advent in plain logical terms. It’s not to discredit the artist in anyway either, it’s to honor the essence of the visual language to be passed down through traditions that pay homage to its origin.

From Picasso being the father to Cubism to the Streets culture embracing the arts & music to give birth to Graffiti — the story continues through that same frequency of frictionless revolution of the People.

Another day in the pursuit of what clearly doesn’t pay the bills, but fills my heart with joy to maybe inspire yours.

— as cliche as that sounds, I truly mean that with what the power of a simple sketchbook and color combination can give a person.

Just another day on the sketchbook. Had to do an abstract piece to take off the edge from lettering. But, I do have a letter on the works.

Sketch VII - “Beija Flor Que Trouxe o Meu Amor”

Excited for XX new album 💿

In case you didn’t know, I am in the market for murals 😬
I just can’t afford to do them for free 🆓 hit your boy up for something original.

“S” - this time was intentional.

It did hurt a little bit as an abstract artist forcing myself into figurative form. The series started as an abstract exercise with calligraphic strokes, now it’s full on calligraphy geared towards graffiti.

This is totally the goal.

But, even though I have no fame nor notoriety from collectors, I still like to stay true to my art & visual language, which originated from abstract expressionism with a bit of parametric design mixed with biomorphic design.

Now that I’m gaining more confidence in my ability to actually architect a full piece I can safely evolve both languages separately while converging the two when necessary.

It’s a game of developing rules for yourself while also reminding you that rules are meant to be broken 😎

The Letter “A” or Mountain 🏔️ sides

Totally did not plan on this one. It’s like not calling the 8 ball 🎱 on the shot. lol But, I hope this one counts — I just can’t unsee the A amidst the mountain sides.

Whatever you see “in search of the real”

Doubled the Sharpie as a way to lay a thicker pattern as opposed to the thick marker.

Sketchbook series part IV

— I will be doing two more for you to fill the squares on the page as a new updated portfolio section on my personal instagram.

— I will return to the usual lifestyle itinerary. 😂

Stay tuned!

“In search of the Real” sketchbook series

Using every bit of my dollar store marker 🤭😂 it’s great for shading. And my drawing marker has seen its’ days too. Gotta go recycle some cans 🎻

This one I actually tried for you lol 😝

I really do hope you like it.

— but, if you know someone who likes art 🖼️ make sure to share it, sell it for a custom T, a mural piece, or to feed your AI 🤖 model! 🫡
