With the Belgian premiere this Sunday, happy to finally reveal the poster, painted by Felix De Clercq. The premiere is sold out, but there will be an additional screening on October 14 at Sphinx Cinema in Ghent. We’ll also be screening at Breedbeeld Filmfestival in Antwerp on November 6 & 7. We celebrated short film during the Short Film Award Ceremony yesterday 🏆🌟 Bill Morrison’s 'Sawyer Avenue, Sunday Afternoon' won the 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁, powered by @loterienationaleloterij 'Nothing Happens After Your Absence' by Ibrahim Omar and 'Ein Unfall' by Angelika Spangel were awarded a Special Mention. In the Competition for Belgian Student Shorts, the 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱, powered by @amplo_vl, went to 'A Story in White' by mosaic. The audience selected Lukas Gevaert’s 'Fruits de Merde' as the winner of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱, powered by @soundslikesonhouse. BETWEEN DAY AND DAWN | 250D, 500T 16mm “We chose 16mm because we wanted to feel the texture of the image: the grain, the imperfections, the way the light spreads. The world of the film, with its payphones, postcards, and Belgian nineties tracks, already carries a deep nostalgia, and film felt like the only medium that could truly honor that. Shooting on film gave the story a nostalgic, warm feeling that allowed us to explore its heavier theme in a tender, accessible way.” — @loreloyens “I wanted the image to hold the contradiction the main character is feeling: the warmth of being young and surrounded by friends, and the quiet pull of guilt and grief underneath. 250D felt right for that emotional in-between space. It renders sunlight with honesty, yet carries a softness that feels fragile and human. We used 500T for the night scenes, but also ended up using it in some daylight situations where you normally wouldn’t. Van zijn eerste video's als kind tot de titel van Director of Photography, tot een wereldpremière van Fruits de Merde in Palm Springs: voor @lukasgevaert is film meer dan beelden maken. Het is een manier om de wereld te begrijpen, verhalen van zichzelf te vertellen en vooral mensen samen te brengen.⁠ ⁠ In Brussel vond hij een creatieve community waarin samenwerken centraal staat.
