Ruby traditionally marks 40 years of marriage, a stone long associated with enduring love, strength and passion.

A few months ago, a lovely couple, C & B, came to me with a very special commission in mind. They wanted to create a unique ring to celebrate an incredible milestone: their 40th wedding anniversary.

Keeping with tradition, they wanted the piece to be centred around a ruby, but they also wanted it to feel completely unique to them, with a mix of colour and sparkle. We worked through dozens of concepts, exploring different stone layouts, proportions and cuts before finally arriving at this design.

At the centre sits a 1.5ct Burmese ruby, surrounded by trillion and marquise cut diamonds, princess cut blue sapphires and round pink sapphires, all set in 18k yellow gold.

A ring made to celebrate 40 years of love, and everything still to come.

Congratulations on such a special anniversary, C & B. I hope this piece brings you both many years of joy and serves as a lasting reminder of an incredible milestone.
