Today marks the one-year anniversary of when I was telling my wife and kids goodnight for the last time before flying out early the next morning to Canada to film Season 2 of @extractedtv

My wife, being the amazing woman that she is, always makes an effort to commemorate moments like this in fun and creative ways. We just received a package from @toddspopshop that contained my very own custom Extracted Funko Pop character!

They did such an amazing job with the details. Everything from my bow drill to my shelter is spot on.

💭 “I did the work to prepare — swimming, running, cutting caffeine — but you can never be fully ‘knowledge-prepared’ until you’re actually in that environment.”

This last year of my life has been such an amazing journey of growth and finding purpose. Learning the importance of clean drinking water was not just something I learned, but actually got to experience first hand briefly during my time on Extracted. This is footage of a well that my wife and I had the privilege of being a part of helping dig last year in the Matambo Village in the Gwembe Valley of Zambia, Africa. For those of you who have chosen to donate over these past few months, thank you. You are playing a vital part in changing countless lives for generations to come in this region. I don’t even know how to fully put into words how grateful I am for the incredible adventure I experienced on Season 2 of Extracted. My life will never be the same & I have grown in more ways than I could imagine. Choosing the joy of the Lord each day is what sustained me & gave me strength when I needed it most. This journey also opened my eyes to the many things I’ve taken for granted—especially something as simple as access to clean water. None of this would have been possible without my amazing wife-my rock through it all & my kids-who inspired me every day to give my all.
