Exactly 1 Month Out From My First Natural Bodybuilding Show.

Earlier this year I finally decided to commit to competing after talking about doing a show for years. 15 weeks into prep I’ve cut over 10lb while maintaining most of my strength and size (thankfully).

My daily routine now consists of 5am workouts, 200g+ of protein a day, excessive macro tracking, posing work, and planning my entire life around meals and sleep.

There’s also the mental side of trying to maximize my physique without crashing out because I don’t look like the pros online.

Prep’s been pretty life-consuming but weirdly enjoyable and it’s nice having a real goal in the gym instead of just working out to stay in shape.

The goal now is to come in at my absolute best, place top 3 at the @ottawanaturalclassic and qualify for Nationals.

And yes, I will be getting a spray tan (that’s always everyone’s first question for some reason).

4.5 weeks left. Let’s gooooo 💪

Easy work by Luke thus far; diving head first into the competitive bodybuilding space in 2026.

Luke’s prep has been one of the most interesting I’ve seen to date. Luke has gotten quite lean, and quick. He started in the early 180’s (left image) and I figured around 168-170 would be a targeted range for us come show time.

He quickly dropped around 8lbs, touching the mid 170’s. Since that time we’ve completely pulled out formal cardio and increased calories almost weekly for over a month. He’s continued to drop body fat, now hovering around 173lbs (image on the right).

This goes to show you just how different we all are. Did I expect this? Of course not. But, it’s affording Luke and I the opportunity to really fuel his body and make the most of his training, while many are digging deeper and deeper into a deficit.

Now, he’s under 11 weeks until his qualifier. He’s doing zero cardio and eating ~3000 calories across the week. Luke is in the drivers seat, windows down, cruise control on, and undoubtably heading into his first season ready to make some noise.
