The tides are turning, the changes can be made, the monsters will be accountable… The hope I feel (a very absent feeling for several years now when looking at the state of the world) from seeing such a diverse group of amazing people being voted in today in the US midterms shows that real people hold the power, not the filthy rich, fascist, genocidal, xenophobic grubby old white men. Hope is in the air once more.

Image description: shitty drawn American flag with the stars in the left corner making a smily face. Below it ja messy uppercase white text saying ‘hope’ and it’s all on a charcoal portrait set rectangular background.

Can this be? Good news actually coming out of the US? The pendulum of good vs evil looks like it is swinging back to good…

Stop the whipping, pushing well beyond natural limits, bleeding from noses/mouths/lungs and potential shooting of horses… The #melbournecup is upon us and for the celebs and sponsors, you can’t hide behind ya fascinators and three piece linen suits… @lexusaustralia @kirinichibanusa (and for the fuckwits that message me every year as if it’s some clapback - no I do not share this sentiment only on Melb cup day…)

Horses love to run. Sure. A lotta people look after their horses and tend to them and work collaboratively and with love on properties. Sure. My issue is horses tongue tied, whipped, forcefully pushed painfully beyond their naturally physicality that risks and ends their lives. Do better. There’s always better ways. Animal cruelty isn’t entertainment.

Image description: Bleak but real vibes here. Charcoal rectangle background. With bones, flowers and gold coins floating around. In the middle is uppercase white hand drawn lettering saying “dogs and horses off racecourses”

Just a kindly Monday reminder for those who need a kindly Monday reminder…

Image description: We start with the classic charcoal rectangle background (am I getting predictable? Was I always…?) with, yep you guessed it, uppercase white hand drawn text saying: “you’re a strong mother fucker”. Now before anyone has a shit and a cry, the “you’re” does NOT have an apostrophe - much like all my other artworks. Why? Thanks for asking. Because it throws off the balance and spacing of my work. Plus I just don’t care. Phew. There. I said it. Anyway! The O’s in each word have bloomed into gorgeous flowers, as has the U in “fucker” and they are yellow, pink, blue and red and they really brighten up this empowering lil pep talk of a drawing. I think they look like daisies maybe? Or gerberas. Which now googling seems to be IN the daisy family! What a twist… by @lukejohnmatthewarnold

18 years. 65 issues. A whole lot of love.

This one, dear Peppermint pals, is extra special. Issue 65 marks our final print edition. Yes, really.

It’s the end of a wonderful chapter, but by no means the end of our story. We’re spreading our wings and heading into an exciting new digital future, with more sewing, crafting, storytelling and creative goodness to come. If you missed our post last week, we’re thrilled to be going into partnership with the fab folk at @frankiemagazine!

For now, though, we have one last printed love letter to share, with a message we hope you’ll carry into the future: LOVE MORE. 💕

Our beautiful cover art by @HelloChilu celebrates kindness, empathy and our shared humanity. And inside? Oh, have we got some stories for you!

The Right Honourable Dame @JacindaArdern talks courageous optimism, while 27 of our favourite humans share the earthly pleasures that bring them joy. Craftivist Betsy Greer (@Craftivista) speaks to Iranian artist @MehrnoshSonghori whose embroidery explores displacement and belonging, and textile artist @SamornSanixay reveals the hidden colours of Australia’s eucalypts. Yolandi Vermaak from @Wombat_Rescue is helping protect these native icons, and we celebrate creativity with @CraftClub.Co’s Nakisah Williams and Maaike Baudry of @MaaiDesign and discover how @DangerousFemales turns T-shirts into action. Meet @BlockTexx, @Junele.Sandra and @UpparelOfficial, who are finding new futures for discarded textiles, and discover feminist goodness with the @QVWC_Shop.

And of course there’s plenty of sewing goodness, too! Say hello to the Bloom Dress and Top, our gorgeous FREE digital sewing pattern created with the support of @RarePatterns. Plus, make a beautiful Blossom Footstool, or try your hand at pretty embroidered flowers from Nakisah.

For 18 years, you’ve welcomed us into your homes, sewing rooms, studios and lives. You’ve read our stories, made our patterns, shared our ideas and helped us build a community we’re immensely proud of.

While this may be the last issue you can hold in your hands, there’s so much more to come.

Here’s to loving more. 💕

The Berry Blanket. 3rd n final entry into the #slowdownartcomp2026

Image description: Again with the watermelon red rectangular background. I tried green, I tried yellow, but the dog was just not having it. Laying on the red is the greatest of Great Danes (named Berry) with pop coloured limbs and head and the body is the same red so all you see for her torso… Do dogs have a torso? The mid section? Are flowers, lotsa cute flowers. by @lukejohnmatthewarnold

Lazy Daisy. Blanket number 2 for the #slowdownartcomp2026

Image description: A red and yellow hand holds up a white flower on a dusty Datsun blue portrait set rectangular background. That’s it. Nothing else. What do you want from me?

Cat on a mat. First rug design for the #slowdownartcomp2026

Image description: watermelon red portrait set rectangle with a sassy cat laying sorta on its back/side… A pose I can no longer achieve in my 40’s. Its limbs n head are all different pop colours but its body is the same red and covered in flowers - so really the flowers make up its body oddy oddy…

This and other posters are available for free download via my Free Poster Project found in my link in bio. They’re free but if you can donate even a dollar to help support those in Gaza, that would be amazing! 🇵🇸🍉🇵🇸

Image description: portrait set rectangle made up of 3 vertical waves in red, sky blue and dark blue. In each wave is a eword/words. The words say in uppercase pink, green or yellow text: From the river to the sea.

Spring has sprung…

Image Description: The colour palette here is a vintage McDonalds vibe - mustard and faded red colours coercing you up the stairs to the party room - back in a day where childhood dreams came true and they didn’t support a genocide. Mustardy yellow rectangle bordered by faded red border with yellow suns in it. In the middle, red uppercase words say “be the cunt that brightens their day”
