This is March 14th, 2026, probably an hour into walking the dog. I'm glad I can now feel my fingers and my toes when I walk him, and I'm glad I don't need to turn around when he starts picking up one paw because of the slush and salt. I understand the importance of the seasons and the sun. But, I have to say I don't share the same joy I hear from the majority of people I interact with when they're super excited for these recent warm and sunny days. I don't know why, maybe it's genetic and/or psychological, but, if every day had to be dull and dark and wet and cold, or every day was cloudless and bright and dry and hot, I'd have to pick the former.

The dog I'm sitting viciously murdered his duck toy, so I sent his parents this photo with an evidence tag and said the police took him to jail. They said, "again?". So, I got him a new one and it lasted nearly precisely one hour before he destroyed it. After the second photo was taken, he pulled it off the counter when I went to put on sweatpants and broke it's quacker into multiple pieces. He is now marching through the house panting, assumedly searching for another plushie to kill. His turtle remains too chitinous to die.

I got to dogsit this guy for maybe the fourth time a week or so ago. He's one of the best behaved dogs I've met. He likes chasing his ball and taking naps, and if he had his way, there would be no deer left on planet earth. Evil, despicable deer. I love you Odin.

@llilligren took this pic of Clem chilling in her scratch orb, I thought it looked a little like a detail you'd see in a 1600s dutch realist's painting so I went in on the filters (plus a song from the best baroque soundtrack ever, Final Fantasy Tactics.). Not the same game, but this is the shop music, so, I feel compelled to say Clementine has wares, if you have coin. 🐈‍⬛💰
