Yano Jones Sr. A man I had the privilege to know and be blessed by. I still remember the first time we met 4 years ago, walked in his garage with a strip of turf and I thought this guy was crazy, but he turned out to be much more than that. He said “don’t worry I ain’t gonna kill yall” and then proceeded to put me thru the most intense workout I’ve done. We went from that to sitting on the couch still sweating talking about life very quickly, Yano was truly one of a kind. Pushing me to become the athlete and person I am today. Believing in me when no one else did, including myself
Even though you are the reason I’m where I am, you never made it about yourself but always lifted us up instead. Your passion for the kids in the community you created is inspiring and something that we will keep on for you❤️‍🩹
Yano was the embodiment of Gods commandment in Matthew 22:39 “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” ✝️ We can be at peace knowing that he loved the Lord and pursued a Christ-like life everyday. Even though you won’t be there for everything you said we would accomplish, we know you’ll be watching and proud of us from above🕊️
You always got us ready for when this day would come, even though we never wanted to believe it. You welcomed me into your family and gave me the lil brother I always wanted. Don’t worry Yan we gonna take care of @yanojones Aspen and Nissa just like you always said.
It still feels like I should be getting one of your check up calls from you any second. You ask me how I was doing, if I was staying focused, if my family is ok, if I needed any help from you, if I had a boo thang 😂, and hear your voice saying you love me and proud of me. It was always different hearing that from you, because you meant it, you loved us up when we needed it, and pushed us when we needed to be pushed. You always had the right things to say🙏
You took me in as a son and was always there for me, for that I am forever grateful for you and owe you everything. My purpose just became a whole lot more, this all for you now peanut head🥜❤️
To my coach, mentor, friend, second pops, motivation, and family all in one.
~Love, Lukey Duke
Long live Yano Jones💙
