A look inside one of our recent commercial electrical fit-outs in Amersham ⚡️✨

This beautifully finished nail and beauty bar features a carefully planned combination of practical, decorative and feature lighting.

We delivered the power and lighting installation throughout, incorporating premium @busterandpunch sockets and switches, decorative lighting from @pookylights and warm 2700K @tagra_lighting Pro neon flex to create the feature lighting across the space.

A huge amount of work, coordination and attention to detail goes on behind the finished result. The outcome is a practical, reliable installation that complements the interior and gives the business a clean, high-end finish—and one we’re proud to have delivered.

Garden ⚡️Power 💡 Smart Lighting and 🎵 Audio Project that I finally ✅️ got back to do a video to show you guys. @ultraleds.co.uk providing the LED strip smartly controlled via the @wisecontrols 4 way RF box and switch 👌 with the as always fantastic @sonos outdoor speakers and amp.
Both client and I was very happy with how it all turned out to be such an amazing space to relax and enjoy! 😎
Sorry about the chop and change on the video, I'll be sure to do better next time ⏲️ 😉 😅.

Your bathroom needs to breathe too… 🌬️

Fitting an inline fan is the easy part. Making sure it actually extracts properly is where many installations fall down—and it’s a common issue we come across.

This windowless bathroom relied entirely on mechanical extraction, but the existing fan had power and was faulty, meaning it wasn’t operating correctly.

Replacing it like-for-like wouldn’t have solved the bigger problem. The fan was also unsuitable for extracting through approximately 7 metres of uninsulated ducting running across a cold loft.

We upgraded the complete system with an inline fan correctly selected for the duct run @ventaxiauk , new insulated ducting and a replacement external grille.

The ducting connections were securely clipped and sealed using appropriate airtight ventilation tape, helping to maintain airflow and prevent warm, moisture-filled air from escaping into the loft rather than being discharged outside.

It wasn’t simply about replacing a faulty fan—the complete route from the bathroom to the outside needed to work effectively.

⚡ MAIN PROTECTIVE BONDING ⚡

It may only look like a cable, but main protective bonding performs an essential electrical safety function—and it can sometimes be missing, inadequate or overlooked.

It connects the installation’s main earthing terminal to relevant extraneous-conductive-parts: metalwork capable of introducing earth potential into the property. Depending on the installation, this could include incoming metallic gas, water or oil pipework, structural steelwork, heating and air-conditioning systems, or other metallic services.

If an electrical fault occurs, correctly installed bonding helps reduce dangerous voltage differences between accessible metal parts, lowering the risk of electric shock.

At this property, we installed and neatly contained new main protective bonding between the main earthing terminal and the relevant metallic services.

Old halogen downlights can run extremely hot—and this is what we commonly find above these fittings. ⚠️

The cable showed clear signs of heat damage, so we removed the old fittings and replaced them with modern integrated LED downlights. @collingwoodled

The result: a cleaner compliant finish, lower energy use and considerably less wasted heat. 💡

If you notice scorching, discolouration or damage around a downlight, don’t ignore it.

⚡️One home. Three thoughtful upgrades. One day. ⚡️

We refreshed this lovely garden with some new modern Lucande fittings, upgraded the kitchen downlights and carried out a bespoke alteration to the existing cooker hood.

When it comes to downlights, @collingwoodled are our go-to. We use them time and again because the quality is excellent, the finish is clean and they’re a product we know we can rely on—which matters when we put our name to an installation.

The cooker hood was sitting too low, blocking the beautiful view of the garden and becoming a regular head-bumping hazard. Rather than replacing it, we carefully shortened it to suit the space, creating a cleaner and much more practical finish.

💡 Garden lighting faults found, corrected and fully upgraded 🌿

After several previous investigations, the customer contacted us because their garden lighting was still tripping the fuse board.

Our inspection found that indoor cable glands had been used externally and the existing joint boxes had not been installed suitably for an outdoor environment—particularly in a garden with an irrigation system.

We carried out a complete upgrade, including:

⚡ Approximately 12 Elipta spike lights from @lightingforgardens - quality stuff 👌
⚡ Approximately 6 @collingwoodled floodlights
⚡ New @wiskaukltd joint boxes and Dual Earth Nuts
⚡ New Storm glands fitted to every SWA cable
⚡ No side entries into the joint boxes, helping to reduce the risk of water ingress
⚡ External-grade @wiskaukltd Kopex conduit and matching external Kopex glands, providing additional mechanical protection against accidental damage during gardening
⚡ All connections correctly secured, sealed and tested

The result is a high-quality, reliable garden lighting installation designed to provide excellent longevity—and no more unwanted tripping.

⚡ EICR REMEDIAL WORKS ⚡

Following an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), we provided the customer with a detailed quotation to rectify the issues identified and improve the safety of their electrical installation.

The remedial works included:

✅ Replacing the old distribution board with a new @fusebox_uk circuit-protection consumer unit, complete with a Type 2 surge protection device
✅ Replacing all socket outlets
✅ Upgrading the spotlights to @collingwoodled H2 LED downlights
✅ Replacing the kitchen fluorescent fitting with a modern LED light
✅ Installing an @aicouk interlinked heat alarm in the kitchen
✅ Correcting the main protective bonding to the incoming water supply, which had previously been connected after a plastic pipe tee fitting

The completed installation is now safer, more reliable and brought up to the required standard.

⚡ Out with the extension leads, in with a safe, permanent solution.

This local British Legion failed a safety audit due to too many extension leads. We installed additional fixed wiring and sockets to safely power their equipment and get them back on track.
