“Echoes”, my collaborative record with Simon Jermyn is out today. This is a very special one for me as it’s only the second record I’ve released under my own name, the first in nearly seven years. It was also recorded and produced over the past three years, a period of unprecedented change in my life. The process of working on this record has been centering for me amidst it all, a reminder of what it is that’s important and most vital to me as an artist and as a person. It’s available on all platforms as well as on cd and vinyl via the link in my bio, I hope you’ll give it a listen.

Special one with Thomas and JK this past week at Close Up. We played a new seven part piece I wrote entitled “Shrines” and I wanted to share a few moments from it here. As well as some nice light. More to come from this band.

I’m elated to announce that @thesimonjermyn & I are releasing a duo record at the beginning of next year. The first single is out today, a song of mine called “Country” and it’s available anywhere you can listen to music. This record has been years in the making and we’re very grateful to @chilltonerecords for believing in it. Much more to come from this project soon.

Luke Marantz has been described by National Public Radio (NPR) as “among the best young American jazz pianists” and by Downbeat Magazine as “a pianist who paints at the keyboard with musicality”. So it is not a surprise to see him turn up as a sideman on dates with the likes of Theo Bleckmann, Adam O’Farrill, Dave Liebman, George Garzone and Jeff Tain Watts.
Equally adept at a piano or synthesizer, his music organically combines jazz and improvisation with elements of electronic music, contemporary classical and post rock. He has performed at seminal halls, venues and festivals across the Americas, Europe and Japan and has appeared on over 15 recordings as a sideman. His debut recording, “Embers”, a collection of original works for solo piano was released on Afterworld Records. by @lukemarantz
