Playing each note at a slightly different at bpm to see what kinds of patterns emerge. I’ve been doing some tests with Steve Reich phasing techniques around the studio and they can be pretty mesmerizing to get lost in. There’s some kind of human urge to search for patterns that makes time float away while we look for them. by @lullatone

Using the Big Time pedal from @chasebliss
and @electronicaudioexperiments to add new patterns and textures under a super simple drum beat. This pedal is nuts and can do so much, but I wanted to show an easy peek at syncing it with MID to the BPM of a drum machine to get more movement and variation in a beat. I’m usually not so good at programming drums because it feels so boring compared to really playing the drums. But, doing something like this makes it so much more interactive and hands on and FUN. If you are around Tokyo in October, come by the Tokyo Pedal Summit and I can show you how it sounds in real life! by @lullatone

Sampled a minichord into the Yamaha VSS-30 for some very soft early eighties ambient sounding chord transpositions by @lullatone

Recently Casio released a new portable sampler called the SXC-1. I wanted to sample some other classic Casio sounds into including the beep from their F-84w watch. There’s a full review video on the Lullatone youtube channel with lots of experiments and thoughts about it. Wired Magazine Japan lent me their promo unit to test out. Some parts of the review might be published by them soon too.

I think this is the first time we have a song on Netflix!

A Lullatone song starts each episode of the Zach Galifiankis gardening show. A lot of the other music is by Mac Demarco! by @lullatone
