I swear when I get new fabric it's like lemme just dive in RIGHT NOW and make something 🤣 This gold corduroy looks so cheery. I think being an 80s kid I have a special love for corduroy. I also love that it is cotton and comes in so many different colors and "wales" (the size of the ribs). I was just reading that one theory about the orgin of the word "wale" comes from an Anglo-Saxon word meaning the ridges you get when you plough a field. Sounds good to me! 😍

Hot off the sewing table! Some days you just keep going even though you should stop and have dinner or something 😆

So yeah, I love my scraps! I get to work with some of these amazing fabrics again and send them off into the world to find their noggin…Cutting out the hat on the bias (diagonal) gives that lovely harlequin pattern. 💛 by @luludeux

NGL, moving the furniture and having to reorganize EVERYTHING in my studio has been a humongous project that felt really daunting at times but man oh man do I love this new space and friends, there are HATS being made. 🎉

This year has been so great in many ways but I’ve also had huge challenges and had to take a few steps back and really sort out some big life things. One big, wonderful (and scary) step was expanding my studio space so that I can keep growing Lulu Deux Millinery….🎩

Whelp, this is me in my freshly painted new studio! And even though I still have lots of stuff to move in (😬) today I MADE A HAT in my new space and I was literally grinning the whole time. 😊

The Van Gogh poster was my color inspiration and I have to get those posters up on the walls still but for now I’m happy seeing them there on the cutting table wall. 🖼️

Also check out how this old coat rack/umbrella stand is now a ribbon spool and embroidery hoop holder with buckram and tracing paper in the umbrella stand part. It works! I can put stuff tidily away but these are things I need at arm’s reach 😆
Here’s to new adventures! And more to come from the studio! Wish me luck getting everything else moved and organized this week! 😛🏃‍♀️📦📦📦

I have been itching to use that pretty leafy 🌿batik as dragon 🐉 wings and lining for this biggins—after a bit of digging I found I still had some of this two-toned fabric that looks green when the blue and yellow threads are next to each other. What other colors should I do?
