HS-02 // LSD010: Stream the new single “Don’t Wanna” from @ozzie.hair’s debut album Madhouse, out February 13th on Hot Sounds (USA) and @lulusmelb (AUS). Limited tapes on Bandcamp.

Last year, Ozzie Hair (The Prize, The Judges, The States) brought us back to our senses with his solo EP Uninsured. Now the Melbourne axe slinger returns with his debut album, Madhouse, a complete wreckage of deconstructed rock ‘n’ roll at full speed. If Uninsured was the warning shot to chaos, Madhouse dives headfirst. The manic charge of riffs, weaponized distortion, and primal stomps hit and bleed from one groove to the next, building relentlessly to their apocalyptic conclusion. Onstage, these songs mutate even further, driven by a live group featuring members of Parsnip and The States that amplify their volatility. In the tradition of The Stooges, Simply Saucer, The Deviants, DMZ, Radio Birdman, and Bo Diddley, Madhouse encapsulates what rock ‘n’ roll is, was and always will be about. Forget the trends.

DEN ‘POST PINK’ LP out OCT 31st on LSD Club and Digital Regress (US/EU).

Second single ‘Lesson on a Line’ now live on bandcamp.

An excerpt of writing by DX below. Read the full write up on bandcamp and Distort:

THE RESTAURANT – THE MENU
CHEF: POST PINK

Amuse-Bouche
Gougères au Comté

For starters, we have a solid foundation for the stomach: cheese puffs made with aged Comté. Den have mastered this opening bite, an amusing and gentle snack.

Yes, you’ve heard: Den moved out of the darkness and the chilly cold and have moved inside The Restaurant. They’ve commandeered the kitchen and present a greater depth of flavour and culinary nuance.

You might remember them first as a food track in a Marrickville back alley where they served a damaged blend of salty post punk and psychedelic hardcore, salt in the hair and salt on the skin, and then a delivery service of ultra minute, dense bites on their Deep Cell LP.

Years of experimenting and balancing flavours have encouraged them to embrace a restraint and subtlety with Post Pink, a truly new sound and direction for the band that honours their culinary legacy. by @lulusmelb

Lulus fire sale this weekend. There will be rarities (records we thought were long gone) and the rest priced dirt cheap. Probably the final time this will all be together before we move out of physical retail once and for all. Sale starts Saturday and our final day at Candy will be October 4th.

Sad to see it go but sometimes the cookie crumbles and it’s still sweet. We did what we could and we’re proud of what we did. Eternally yours, Lulus xo by @lulusmelb

LSD008: DEN - Post Pink LP

Sydney’s DEN return with their sophomore record Post Pink.

A post punk exploration that weaves an alluring yet unsettling sonic world deeply routed in the sounds of the contemporary Sydney underground - at home in the LSD Club roster amongst artists like Eternal Dust, Lewers and Low Life

Lead single, ‘Extraordinary Wealth’, is Den at their most tom driven, riff heavy and anthemic. A sure fire hit to the system.

Listen to ‘Extraordinary Wealth’ on Bandcamp and preorder if you dig. Club Subscribers - exclusive white LP will be included in your sub.
