“cup o’ noodles”
.
i remember the day i was moving out from home to go to college and my dad handing me a huge box of ichiban instant ramen noodles and my mum saying, “just in case....ok? you can add some ham and whatever vegetables you want.”
.
every visit home, there was always a box there waiting for me to bring back to school ❤️
.
cup o’ noodles was soon added to my “just in case or emergency” pantry next to “cup a soup” and my ichiban ramen noodles 😜
.
to my surprise, 2021 is the 50th anniversary for cup o’ noodle since their launch in america in 1971 and they are bringing back the “o” in “cup o’ noodle” as they had removed the “o” in 1993....i had no idea!!

these two 🔴🔴

it’s always a blip in my heart when my pieces sell
and don’t get me wrong….i do love that they do but in the same breath a part of my heart skips a beat as all the energy to make these pieces and why i chose to make certain characters is a part of my story and my family and the stacks of mad magazines and comics my brothers and i would buy at the corner store at eglinton and oriole pkwy.

( and tiger beat magazines too….ha!!)

thank you so much to @tlg_tor and @peppy_colours for inviting me to be part of a group show in their lovely space just over a year ago ❤️❤️❤️

“Dennis the Menace & Gnasher (UK)”

I was excited to make this pin when I found out that this year marks the 75th anniversary of Dennis the Menace in The Beano Magazine who was brought to life in March 1951. I was then surprised to find out that the Queens Park Rangers Football team appeared in their black and red striped away kit known as the “Dennis the Menace” in October 1983 and in 2023 they created a 40th anniversary commemorative shirt for their QPR fans❤️🖤❤️
