Hello 👋🏽 I'm Marisol La Muerte, and I'm a performance artist from Atlanta, GA!

I'm 29 years old (♈♋♐), I've been a fire/flow artist since 2019, and started dabbling in burlesque, character work, and other performance arts about 4 years ago.

I also teach flow arts, primarily dragon staff and hoop, and I've been playing with aerial (pole and lyra) on and off over the last 4 years.

What started off as my fun and expressive hobby has turned into something I could've never predicted - on one hand, it became an amazing way to connect to different people from all over the world, both virtually and in-person. I've performed all over the US and Puerto Rico, and my major goal this coming year is to perform internationally! ✨

On the other hand, performance became my primary job/income source when I lost my job in March from federal layoffs. I started picking up different types of gigs and tried to get better at social media. I learned a lot, like that I love feather fans and get side tracked easily when making reels😂

I couldn't be more thankful that I had this established medium to get me through several months of "self-employment" (I opted to say that instead of "unemployment", and frankly, it really helped boost my morale).

Thankfully, my job has recently been reinstated, and I'm able to refocus my performance arts as an expressive and creative outlet.

Outside of performance, I'm of Irish and Japanese descent ✌🏽 I also have my MSW and am a bilingual social worker in Atlanta, GA. I absolutely love my career and am so grateful to pursue my two passions simultaneously 💜my favorite music artists include @deathcabforcutie
@odesza @tashsultanaofficial @kllomusic @frenchkiwijuice
and @purityring

I also am a huge band geek - I played in the percussion section for 10 years between middle school, high school, and college, competing with marimba (front ensemble) marching with snare, and involving myself in various ensembles like jazz band, steel drum band, and percussion ensemble 🎶🎵i taught myself piano as a child and still play when I can ~ music will always be my first love, and honestly what I consider my first "flow art" - what's yo by @lune_sol_

The first time I heard this song, I knew I wanted to choreograph something embodying the centripetal force I have with this initial stall - either with dragon staff or pole

Thank you @fahrenheitflowarts for giving me the platform to dedicate this piece to the opportunities flow arts and movement has given me - I'm leaving this weekend feeling so rejuvenated and inspired

Dragon staff was my gateway drüg in 2019 that, it not only encouraged more forms of dance and movement; it opened up community, connection, and expressing musicality in new and exciting ways. As a musician at my foundation, this piece marries my loves of music and movement.

H8rs will say the last one is AI 😂 @pclrglxs

We made this sh1t with our hands (!!) and props and cameras and noggins!!!

Jason, I can't thank you enough for asking me to model for your #lightpainting creative endeavors - the last two shoots we've had were my first times playing with my props as "brushes" and it's been so fun taking on that challenge

Where it started (buying a pole at a s3x shop tipsy in 2020 and deciding it was my new personality) ➡️training #SwayPole

No climb.. no knowledge.. just YouTube and a dream 😂😅

Thank you @spidergin for the loving supervision and guiding me through mounting this new and intimidating apparatus

Why this feels more approachable than stilts? 😅 I have zero idea - but Im SO excited to familiarize myself with it

Major s/o to my pole mama @flowtingtreasure who cleared up and strengthened my climb - I would never have been able to tackle this without you taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @lune_sol_

I can do (almost) everything! [Part 2]

This mini project was so fun - getting to look back at all of these different looks and opportunities was so nostalgic and such a positive reminder of what we are capable of

Some skills shown in this video include:
🔸Fire spinning
🔸Playing Elphaba alongside @thomasaeddyson for @atlantapride last year
🔸Ambient character work and gogo
🔸Pole dancing
🔸Burlesque
🔸Partner dragon staff as Beetlejuice
🔸Candy cane hula hooping
🔸Modeling a variation of my Queen of Hearts costuming (one of my favorite looks I've ever made!)
🔸LED prop manipulation
🔸 Ghostly Scream boudoir with @dizzy_goddess for @boudoirbydylan
🔸Free style dance during @choreobylivjes class at @xcelstudios

Outside of the events that I independently booked, some of the others include bookings by @liquidskyevents @theinvertedcircus @sinandtoniccabaret @rated.her @studiobuffy.atl by @lune_sol_

I'm not kidding when I say I can (mostly) do anything!

I was listening to this song by @masego laughing to myself about how many hats I've gotten to wear - both in the performance arts industry and beyond!

Some featured roles here are:
🔸Aerialist (lyra & duo lyra w/ @dizzy_goddess)
🔸On-site assistant and equipment setter-upper (hopefully full rigger soon)
🔸Character actor (feat. me as Sadness from Inside Out)
🔸Fire spinner
🔸Frosty the Snowman and The Sickening Nurse as a burlesque performer
🔸Underwater model and (unpictured) mermaid
🔸Human grape vine greeter (so fun)
🔸LED prop spinner
🔸Candy Cane Hooper
🔸Irish step dancing penguin (one of my favorites to date)

Most of these were independently booked, but thank you also to @liquidskyevents and #CirqueTastic for booking several of these as well by @lune_sol_
