October is Indoor Air Quality Awareness Month. Poor indoor air quality is linked to asthma attacks, illness, fatigue and increased missed school days for both students and school staff. Children are especially vulnerable, spending up to half of their waking hours inside school buildings.

Through the Clean Air School Challenge, the American Lung Association supports schools nationwide with training, technical assistance, and peer collaboration to improve indoor air quality and create healthier learning environments.

"It took me years to get diagnosed.”

For many people living with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), this is the reality.

Symptoms can look like other conditions, which can delay diagnosis and treatment. The sooner PAH is identified, the sooner treatment can begin to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

If you’re not getting answers, keep advocating for your care.

💻 Visit Lung.org/PAH for more information, resources and support.

Your schedule can quickly fill up with fall activities. October is a great time to make vaccination a part of your plans.

Vaccines are important for everyone to help protect against common respiratory viruses like flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and COVID-19. Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent serious respiratory illnesses, especially among older adults and people with chronic medical conditions, such as lung disease.

Talk to your healthcare provider about vaccines that are recommended for you. Learn more at lung.org/vaccines. by @lungassociation
