When I met me I wasn’t a fashion designer

I didn’t know people would incarcerate me with the title. Sometimes people would call you a name and you start living up to that name and it start limiting you from what else God has called you to do in this life time… hi I’m lusee I’m a multi media creative - I’m model, fashion design, stylist and I like to tell story through visuals media, some would call this content creation. by @lusee.studio

A little dump from my life as a creative 🧵🌷

Drawing, making patterns I once swore I hated, moving my body, looking after this temple and finding room for all the things I love.

Some days I’m a fashion designer, some days an artist in training, and some days I’m just trying to get through admin😭

Okay, I’m challenging myself!!!!!

For the entire month of October, I’m doing a 30-day posting challenge!!!!!! posting on this page every single day to see how much we can grow this little community when I actually stay consistent 😂

The goal? 5K by the end of the year. 🥹🤞🏾

And because it’s Day 1 and I realised I have absolutely nothing prepared to post 😭😂 we’re starting with a little Throwback Thursday.

For the first 8 months of this year, I made a little challenge with myself: no weave, no extensions ….just braids.

And now, for the last 4 months of the year, I’m taking it a step further: just my natural hair..

No hiding. No trying to make it look like something else. No waiting until it’s “long enough” or “done enough” to feel beautiful.

Just me, learning to become comfortable in my natural skin again.

I even decided to cut my hair and start from scratch. There’s something so freeing about letting go of what was and giving yourself permission to begin again. 🌱

And somewhere in this process, God reminded me of something He had already told me before:

I am His beautiful daughter.

Not because of my hair.
Not because of how I look.
Not because of what I accomplish.

Just because I am His.

So here’s to these next four months of learning my hair, embracing the awkward length, taking the awkward selfies, trying new styles, and becoming more comfortable with the girl God created me to be.

Maybe this isn’t really a hair challenge after all.

A month later, I’m still unpacking everything God did in Atlanta.

Not every answer comes immediately. Sometimes God gives you the experience first and the understanding later.
