2025 taught me to lean into life and find joy in learning new things. I allowed myself to be a beginner again, without rushing the process, without needing to be “good” right away, and without turning every new thing into something I had to prove. I tried, I stumbled, I learned, and I grew… and somehow that became the most freeing thing.

It was also the year I turned 30 (still kind of surreal?) and became an aunt to my sweet niece Suzu, a joy I didn’t even know I needed. Watching life get bigger through family, through love, through the small moments… it shifted something in me.

This year, I finally understood the concept that life is about the journey, not the destination. Not just as a quote, but as something I could actually feel and live. Building a business, improving my relationships, showing up with more intention, and stepping into a new era of myself, “my 30s” I guess. And honestly, I’m kind of loving it here. I feel more grounded, more curious, and more open than I’ve been in a long time.

Thank you, 2025, for the lessons, the growth, the new beginnings, and the reminders to keep choosing joy. 🤍✨ taken in Austin, Texas by @lustyeyes

If I’m not shooting or painting or playing music all the time I start to feel like I don’t know how anymore. I’ve really been wanting to shoot in the moonlight for the past couple months while the sunflowers were still towering over us. I had to set aside everything to Make it happen and it did last night. Thanks to.@lustyeyes for her presence and patience and brilliance (sorry about the bug bites!).
I need that full moon and today I have it.

For my 30th birthday, I fulfilled a dream that began when I was 24. While I was living in Bali, I met two women in their 60s who had walked the Camino de Santiago when they were 30—and became best friends for life. I decided then that when I turned 30, I would walk the Camino too.

This year, I did it. With my best friend of 12 years. We walked more than 300km over 10 days, across two countries. We laughed, ached, cried, got hangry, and came out stronger—more than friends, truly sisters.

The long distances gave me time to meet with myself. To face my doubts, my ego, my emotions. My hard exterior wore down like the soles of my once-new shoes. And in that stripping away, I found something honest. I could no longer hide who I was. And in that vulnerable space, I met others—also stripped down—who greeted me with open hearts.

The Camino is a place where you’ll learn someone’s life story before even knowing their name. Along the way, we met so many beautiful souls: a Japanese family traveling with their 2-year-old in a stroller, a 10-year-old girl on her second Camino with her mom, two Israeli sisters in their 60s that became our best friends, and an 85-year-old stroke survivor walking alone. Just to name a few. But the thing is, we are never alone. The Camino lifts us up through the kindness of strangers, shared pain, and shared joy.

Arriving at the cathedral, we were reunited with those we met on the road. It was a moment I’ll never forget. The raw emotions of pilgrims cheering, crying, laughing, and even disassociating… iykyk 😆

And somewhere between the endless walking and the breathtaking views, I realized something: I’m no longer running away. I’m arriving—with my full self. This Camino was a confirmation that I am exactly where I’m meant to be, and exactly who I’m meant to be.

The Camino is a great metaphor for life. One thing this experience taught me is that no matter the route we take or the pace we move, we can all arrive. There is no wrong way, only your way. 🌿✨ Buen Camino! taken in Santiago de Compostela, Spain by @lustyeyes
