salonnières💌

ein rundbrief projekt inspiriert von frauen, die räume für sprache und austausch schufen.

mein brief leitet das projekt ein: alternative medien & briefe schreiben als feministischer akt.

in den von frauen geleiteten pariser salons etablierten die salonnières gegenseitigen respekt als intellektuelle grundlage und schufen damit eine gesprächskultur jenseits von rang und herkunft, das dem absolutistischen prinzip der monarchie strukturell widersprach.

jede ausgabe behandelt themen, die uns alle betreffen: wie wir uns informieren, wie wir uns bewegen, wie wir uns schützen.

SALONIÈRES ✉️
Inspiriert von Frauen, die Räume für Sprache und
Austausch schufen: ein analoger Rundbrief, der zum
Briefeschreiben einlädt und dem digitalen Konsum eine
handgeschriebene Alternative entgegensetzt.

Das Medium der Briefe schreiben ist ein Akt der Verlangsamung – und Verlangsamung ist radikal in einer Welt, die uns ständig beschleunigt haben will.
Es ist eine Einladung zum Austausch, statt passivem Konsum. Jede Ausgabe behandelt Themen, die uns alle betreffen: wie wir uns informieren, wie wir uns bewegen, wie wir uns schützen.

identity for the project by @studio.kollision „von der lacke zum bach“

Central to the design was the typeface Chaim Aviva, chosen in response to Lackenbach’s Jewish history. Originally designed in 1929 in Warsaw for Yiddish print, it bridges Hebrew and Latin scripts, pulling a forgotten history into the present. Lackenbach was once home to the largest Jewish community in central Burgenland, and the typography became a way to carry that memory throughout the project.

This sculptural candlestick-holder was created from discarded circular saw blades from a carpentry workshop. The steel, originally used as a cutting tool, was reworked with a plasma cutter. Rather than following a fixed plan, the process was guided by the behavior of the material itself. During the cutting, structures reminiscent of coral formations began to appear. These organic patterns became the visual basis of the object, transforming the industrial remnant.
