On Feb. 2, 2025, Johanne Vanessa Moise was working what should have been just another security shift when five bullets nearly stole her future.A Rutgers University graduate with dreams of one day working for the FBI, Johanne suddenly found herself fighting for her life after a shooting outside an Allentown lounge. One year ago today, the Women’s Health Center at Tower Place opened its doors, bringing comprehensive women’s health services and family-centered support together under one roof. Since then, it has helped many women overcome barriers that can make prioritizing their health difficult. For Dakoha, that barrier was childcare. As the mother of a 3-year-old while also navigating a high-risk pregnancy with frequent, lengthy appointments, finding care for her daughter could have added significant stress. Instead, she had access to Kids Club – complimentary, on-site childcare available to Women’s Health Center patients during appointments.
