It's Election Day! 🗳️ 🇺🇸 And what better time to take you behind the scenes of last Thursday's A Community Conversation: Political Pulse Live! at Northampton Community College's Fowler Family Southside Center! Tom Shortell did an incredible job moderating a conversation with an outstanding panel of guests: ❤️ Chris Borick, Political Scientist at Lehigh University 🤍 Ahmed Rahman, Associate Professor of Economics at Lehigh University 💙 Shawn Hughes, Vice President of Client Retention at BSI Corporate Benefits Together, they explored the issues driving Lehigh Valley voters to the polls and shared insights into what matters most to the community. And the conversation didn't stop there! As part of U.S. Media Literacy Week, Dr. Elizabeth Ortiz presented 'Their Ad, Your Vote: A Media Literacy Look at Political Advertising', helping attendees think critically about the political messages they see every day. Talk about perfect timing leading up to Election Day! But there's so much that happens behind the scenes! 🎥 The amazing Lehigh Valley Public Media production team can transform just about any space into a fully functioning studio, complete with a pop-up control room! From cameras and audio to the live broadcast, this crew makes it all look easy, no matter where they go! This show was also bittersweet as it marked our Director of Video amd Broadcast Content Javier Diaz's final show with LVPM as he transitions to his next chapter. ❤️ Thank you, Javi, for everything you've contributed to the team. You'll certainly be missed! As voters head to the polls today, it's a reminder of why conversations like these matter.
