We didn't visit many museums this trip, preferring to wander the streets of the cities we visited. But I couldn't leave Vienna without popping into the Kunsthistoriches Museum to see its treasures and have a snack at the fanciest Cafe in Europe. We also toured the Museums of Armory and Musical Instruments, which managed to contain two of Dave's keen interests in one complex.
The rest of the day we wandered the historical quarter. We didn't attend a performance of the Spanish Riding School, but we did get to see two of its stars sharing a silly moment.
As we wandered the Ringstrasse, I paused to listen to a classical ensemble playing a hauntingly beautiful Melody. I turned around slowly, taking in the beautiful buildings and the people of the world peacefully enjoying themselves in this glorious city. I was overwhelmed with gratitude for being able to make this trip of my dreams. by @lwehrkamp

I got to the bus station with plenty of time to catch the bus. The ride to Ponferrada took about 5 hours. Fun fact: the rain in Spain does NOT fall mainly on the plain as the fields were parched and yellow. But as we began the climb into the mountains, the land became much greener and clouds drifted overhead. taken in Castillo de Ponferrada by @lwehrkamp
