🌟Huge news 🌟 Thicc Thigh Thurs is teaming up with the incredible @de.tour for our first ever film night! This Thursday (7 May) we’re screening Claire’s collection of short films titled ‘Technical Terrain’.

Technical Terrain is a documentary project focused on bike messengers, exploring different cities to share stories from five women, trans and non-binary people. It looks at the context each person lives in, the challenges and motivations they experience, and the bike-related projects they’re starting. Each is incredibly open, honest, and ultimately empowering - they consider the ways we exist in the world and the ways in which we contribute. The films take us to Stockholm, Sweden; Munich, Germany; Genova, Italy; Zurich, Switzerland; and Tokyo, Japan, and we get to experience them right here on Gadigal land.

We’ll be meeting at Redfern Park at 6pm as always for a 6:15pm roll out to the screening location. Please bring chairs, pillows, blankets, and snacks. Totally free. Message me if you’d like to come but would prefer to meet us at the screening location. Invite your pals xoxo by @lycra_adjacent

💚🧡 @_chatterbags appreciation post! 🧡💚

Zane made these custom bags for me before my Euro tour last year. The frame bag has big sturdy zippers, a hydration/cable port, double pockets, an elasticated stuff pocket on the non-drive side, and a flipped lower zipper for use with a @botched.bikes Dragonfly cage. It also features a cargo net on the non-drive side which I hadn’t seen any other bag makers do before him. He sold the concept to me when I visited him in Naarm and he carried a carton of eggs home on the outside of his already full framey 🥚 So good.

The bar bag is sized perfectly to clear my crown mounted light and has a load of extra webbing on the rear for tying it down to my @ratkingframes cradle. I have thraaashed this thing and it’s unwaveringly sturdy. Any other setup I’ve run has come loose or rubbed something to death.

Believe it or not I tend to avoid loud colours but I wanted to show off Zane’s work so we went party mode 🥳 The orange has worked out so well for on-road visibility and I got so many compliments on the bags. I think a few admirers even hit up Zane for their own from the other side of the world.

So stoked on these bags and for people like Zane working hard to make cool stuff for our beloved bikes. Hit him up if you’re in the market for some dripped out storage solutions 🔥 by @lycra_adjacent

I can’t overstate how well the @sydbma and broader Aus crew did in pulling off this incredible event. From the alley cats and side events to the main race on Cockatoo Island you guys killed the game and showed mess fam worldwide how wonderful this place is. Thank you ❤️‍🔥

Fr though, my Beachcomber was my other half for my 3 month Euro tour this year and no other production bike compares. As a bmx kid at heart, having a bike that I can both tour extensively on while also stopping to shred street spots, skateparks, pump tracks, and trails is simply the best.

This Thursday marks 2 years of TTT! 🥳 That’s 2 years of backyard exploration, 2 years of building a beautiful community with friends new and old, and 2 years of spinning them cranks every week without fail. That’s pretty damn special 🌟

Year 2 has seen the ride truly blossom as a collective endeavour. We instituted a rotating ‘president’ role last summer which has worked well to decentralise the leadership, and have had a whole host of new ride leaders taking us to weird and wonderful places. It’s our hope that TTT will continue long into the future and this year’s success has really made that feel possible.

It’s also been incredible to see and be a part of so many rides and events organised as offshoots from TTT. There was a big lull in the Gadigal bike scene during the Covid years and at least in my world our awesome crew has played such a key role in building something new up. Hardly a week goes by now without some kind of bike event, ride to the beach, bikepacking trip, or other party-paced ride to be a part of. How cool is that!?

Thank you to our presidents @themvy_, @andnowimreadytoclosemymind, and @vapesandtofu, all of our ride leaders, and anyone who’s ever come along! Ya’ll fill my heart every week without fail 💚

Come and celebrate our bday with a BBQ at McNeilly Park in Marrickville this Thurs 🎂 We’ll meet at Redfern Park at 6pm before riding over. Can’t wait to see you there xoxo by @lycra_adjacent

Trash Bike Build Off Naarm trip! 🥳🗑️🔥

Had such a blast hanging out in Naarm and surrounds with friends old and new. Shout outs to @curbsidebikes for putting on such an epic event. $150 dollar budget build off with an overnighter to put the bikes to the test. Lilydale to just past Warburton. Perfect rail trail basically the whole way from the station. NSW could never.

Special shout outs too to my travel companion @_papatalen. His first trip away from Taiki since becoming a dad. Best dude. And also to Zane and Francesca of @chattrbags fame for putting us up. You guys rock 💚 Oh and alsooo to Izzy, @laz_petri_, and @pabstblueriordan for showing us around on the final day. Such a blast.

My entry to the @curbsidebikes Trash Bike Build Off Extravaganza 2025 🥳 $150 budget. Racks and other bikepacking gear didn’t count. Such an epic time (reel to come 💋). The only way my bike got to be this drippy was because I’d collected parts for years. It was awesome having an event to put ‘em to use! Huge shout out to Ethan for making it happen!!! Bring on 2026 😎

Frame: ‘92 Paramount Series 90 PDG. $90 (after selling original parts) on marketplace. Sold to Griff then back to me. One of the first Japan made Paramounts.
Fork: 1-1/8” threaded Scott Apache fork and super pitted misc. headset from the side of the road. Triple bosses brazed in with help from the lovely Sean @killenbike. $Free
Bars: eZee ‘Funke’ bars. $Free from an iconic @glowwormelectricbikes customer
Stem: 110mm Marin Lite stem. $Free via @vapesandtofu from marketplace
Cranks: Sugino made White Industries triple cranks. $Free original pair from a swap meet with a $25 replacement arm from a retro MTB Facebook group.
Chainring: 36T PassQuest AliExpress ring. $35.
Wheels: 26” Bontrager hubs laced to SuperStock rims with 2.1” GravelKing tyres. $Free from @universal_subject
Grips: ODI X Vans lock on grips. $Free via trade with @lcd_stefansystem
Gears: Sram XO. Worn out chain and 11-32T cassette. $Free from a random bike yonks ago.
Brakes: Shimano LX adjustable levers with Shimano BR-M600 V-brakes. $Free from the same bike as the forks.
Seatpost: 26.4mm Uno shimmed with a Grifter beer can. $Free from a marketplace bike that I got my money back on.
Saddle: Charge Bucket saddle. $Free from a lovely Glow Worm customer

It’s been a while since a bikepacking trip whooped my ass. This one finally did, and god it was good 💋@townie_lover modified The Caves Traverse @omafiets route, adding the Moorara Boss fire trail. 1000vm in about 8km, in and out. And that was after the Six Foot Track. We didn’t ride much 😅 Hike-a-bike, single track, night riding. This trip had it all 🥳
