my best friend got married.

it’s not everyday you get to see the girl that met you the day you were born, endured the time you hit her with an umbrella and she hit you with a pan phase, survived the middle and high school years of hours of talking and giggling, listened to the deep conversations of post grad and new young adult life walk down the isle to the love of her life.

and it’s even crazier when the love of her life is someone i’ve heard of since i was in second grade. who’s dad used to eat frogs and who was in my dad’s cabin and i always knew crazy stories about. someone that became one of my favorite people from my favorite places who i only spent a couple weeks with total but impacted me throughout my whole year.

to see the way they love each other and now live in union together. it’s made me see a part of both of them i never have before. to see the way jd cares and loves. and the way nora adores and cherishes.

i never would have dreamed this to happen but im honored to be a part of it. honored to be a part of their wedding. honored to be a part of their story. honored to be a part of their family.

i love my nora more than words can say. and i love jd in a way i never thought i could.

JESUS IS THE ROCK 🪨🌳🛶

camp rocks has blessed me in more ways than i could count. from pushing a scared little girl out of her comfort zone, to creating the sweetest teenage friendships, to cultivating and teaching leadership as a counselor over the sweetest little girls. i’ve grown up with camp as my favorite week of the year since i was in second grade.

my family runs camp so i seem biased but seeing the transformation of kids’ lives from just one week a year is proof of the generational impact that camp gives. i’ve grown up seeing my grandparents, hummingbird and rooster, lay down their comfort, time, and health to serve God’s kids. they see the impact of a firm foundation in children that many people can’t grasp and they’ve served these kids year after year, at camp rocks, for 25 years!!

i’m thankful for camp rocks, what it’s taught me, and how God has encountered me there. i’m thankful for a place where God’s presence can dwell and kids feel what it’s like to live life with him. i’m thankful for my family and the honor it is to be a part of it. i’m thankful for my grandparents that have pastored and shepherded thousands of kids for so long. i’m thankful for God’s kingdom being built by camp rocks, my family, and my small part in it all.

Jesus, thank you for camp. thank you for showing up always, for never leaving us to figure out anything on our own, for encountering your kids in the mundane and the fun, for showing yourself, and for changing lives. 💫🌟 by @lydd.white

i am in awe of Jesus. in awe of the cross. in awe of the torn veil. ripped from TOP TO BOTTOM. we were created to be one with God. IN GOD. our purpose is not to glorify him or do things for him or tell other people about him. it’s not just to be in communion with him or hang out with him sometimes. IT’S TO BE IN HIM. TO BE ONE WITH HIM.

ONE WITH CHRIST. ONE WITH GOD.

this is why we were created. this is our purpose.

Jesus gave me a cool opportunity to attend the disney college program (@officialdisneyprograms) this august!!

i’ll be living and working at disney world for 5 months, exploring the entertainment world and getting to be around one of my favorite places!!

i’ve been home from ywam, graduated from high school, and in an in-between season of waiting on God to show me what to do. i’ve had cool ideas and places i’ve wanted to go but haven’t felt God’s permission to pursue anything yet. i felt him so strongly in this program and am SO expectant to see what he’s going to do while i’m there.

i’m so excited for the new friendships, opportunities, and growth that will come from this season and i can’t wait to share it with yall!
