Review: NORFRICA: Glorious Death 1 - Dan Vasc with Eric July ORIGINAL SONGReleased June 20, 2025Today, it's June 20,2026. On this day, one year ago, the ORIGINAL SONGNorfrica:Glorious Death 1 was released. It is from Dan Vasc's new heavy metal project with Eric July. The release day of the original song was an event in itself. First came the animated music video on the RIPPAVERSE channel, setting the tone with the original song enveloped in dramatic animated visuals. Then Dan dropped his own version, mixing live‑action shots of Dan and Eric with scenes from the animated music video. Seeing both worlds stitched together made the whole thing mythic. And of course, Garrett J. Peters, a long term fellow metal musician of Dan, tears through the guitar parts.NORFRICA is a project of Dan Vasc and Eric July. It is one of those rare moments where fiction and reality align. The song's lyrics are rooted in in‑universe lyrics of a fictional metal band in Eric July's first RIPPAVERSE comic book named ISOM. Last year, it exploded into the full metal anthem Glorious Death 1 that charted place 1 on Amazon, charted on iTunes, and even in the Billboard digital song sales charts, it was on seventh place. The RIPPAVERSE has released their first comic book of the NORFRICA saga, Norfrica:Glorious Death 1 in harvest, 2025.Musically, this is one of Dan’s strongest works so far. It’s heavy, melodic actual heavy metal. Dan studied Eric’s vocal range before composing; obviously the best way to lock their voices together. Dan’s versatility shines, and Eric delivers amazing vocals like he never did before.Fans of FEARLESS and MANOWAR will feel right at home, and Dan's Tibetan throat singing adds this ancient, ritualistic energy that fits the theme of warriors walking toward their fate.🎥 YouTube: Dan Vasc Glorious DeathLyrics in the description there!https://youtu.be/zRxUU6APX7oThe comic book NORFRICA: Glorious Death 2 is in pre-sale on RIPPAVERSE.COM, and the book Norfrica: Glorious Death 1 is availaple for purchase there.June 20, 2026#danvasc #norfrica by @lydelith

Review: Dan Vasc - "I Want Out" Helloween Cover 1 and 2Released in 2018 and in 2020Dan Vasc's two covers of "I Want Out" tell a story of the artist's evolution. The 2018 version captures pure passion, fearless energy and the hunger of an aspiring singer searching for his place. The camera he uses to record the video isn't the latest high-end model, but that doesn't matter. Dan tells the story not only through his exceptional vocal abilities, but also through his expressive physical performance. It's great to see how he visualizes the meaning of the song lyrics with gestures and facial expressions. In 2020, the same fire gave rise to a sophisticated, powerful performance, this time accompanied by Tim Hansen, the son of Kay Hansen of Helloween, and Victor The Guitar Nerd. Dan isn't on screen all the time, sharing the spotlight with Victor's incredible guitar work and Tim Hansen's outstanding performance. As a result, he has fewer opportunities to tell the story through physical expression. Even so, the epic atmosphere never fades, as his movements perfectly emphasize some of the song's powerful lyrical moments. One reflects where the journey began; the other celebrates just how far it has come. Both covers are unmistakably Dan Vasc; driven, powerful, and deeply rooted in the spirit of metal. an artist driven by passion, intensity, and respect for the original song. In both versions, the rebellious spirit of the classic track remains central.Dan Vasc - Number 1 Amazon charting metal singer, composer, youtuber and business owner. Review: Dan Vasc - The Sound of Silence (DISTURBED Cover), originally by Simon & Garfunkel Released Feb 22, 2020Dan’s cover shows exactly that he’s not only an outstanding vocalist but an excellent compositor too. The arrangement is thoughtful, precise, and clearly built by someone who understands how to shape a song perfectly.Paul Simon wrote the song at age 21, sitting in the dark in his bathroom, drawn to the soothing sound of running water and the echo. It was his usual space to focus and dream, and this setting is reflected in the song’s iconic first line: “Hello darkness, my old friend / I’ve come to talk with you again.” The lyrics portray isolation and the collapse of meaningful communication in a noisy, superficial world. Simon spent three months refining the lyrics. In 1966, Garfunkel summed up the song's meaning as "the inability of people to communicate with each other, and not particularly internationally but especially emotionally, so that what you see around you is people who are unable to love each other." Dan starts the song, showcasing incredible vocal control, particularly in the lower register. The stripped-down arrangement, with soft piano and subtle orchestration, is minimal yet powerful. It places his voice front and center. As the song progresses, layers like acoustic guitar and strings add richness without ever overshadowing the vocals. Dan’s dynamic control is masterful. He knows exactly when to hold back and when to let loose. I didn’t know I was waiting for, when I heard his version, but I felt, there was something awesome to come. Dan gave the song his own shape and meaning. This is a stunning performance and by far the best version of the song I’ve ever heard. From start to finish, it remains captivating. His voice is a treasure, and I hope so badly that we get some more gemstones of his vocal prowess in the future. That stunning performance is by far the best version of the song I’ve ever heard. I especially love the darker nuances in this interpretation. And the softer ones. And all in between.🔥 YouTube: https://youtu.be/ngL8GXN6AvE#danvasc by @lydelith

Review: Dan Vasc - "The Sound of Silence" Simon & Garfunkel / Disturbed CoverReleased May 19, 2016Dan's first cover of "The Sound of Silence" is a powerful and haunting rendition that stays close to Disturbed’s arrangement. He delivers a vocal performance marked by controlled intensity, clean low-register resonance, and a steady dynamic build that mirrors the tension of the track. The title itself presents a paradox; silence has no sound. Yet Dan’s rendition makes that paradox feel tangible. Dan has mentioned in livestreams that outside noise comes into his office. Cars drive by, people shout, and his dogs bark. We can only hear it when he stays quiet. Perhaps that's the essence of the lyrics: It's not just about silence as the absence of sound, but about what becomes audible when we keep the silence.Dan maintains the dark, modern interpretation popularized by Disturbed, but his version also introduces elements of his own style and sets the stage for his even more metal-infused cover he would release two years later. This first take is a compelling blend of respect for the original and for Disturbed's cover, and it showcases Dan’s ability to revitalize iconic songs. Review: Dan Vasc - "Lavatory Love Machine" - EDGUY Cover Feat. Victor The Guitar NerdReleased on July 12, 2019The lyrics describe a fantastical and humorous scenario where the singer imagines traveling to Brazil in an airplane. But he wants to go there by any means except flying. To distract himself from being in the air, he fantasizes about a wild affair in the airplane lavatory. Best 3 minutes of the flight, I guess. He finds comfort and excitement in this crazy fantasy by envisioning the absurd situation. The lyrics juxtapose the thrilling idea of a mid-flight romance against the backdrop of potential airplane dangers, blending humor, bravado, and fantasy. I remember that once, in a podcast, Dan was asked: "Dan, when will you return to Brazil?" He answered something like, "As soon as I've left it".And, he hates planes till this day.Dan's rendition of this song is not only catchy and funny, but his high-pitched screams add an electrifying thrill to the performance. His powerful vocals, combined with Victor The Guitar Nerd's stellar guitar skills, bring a fresh and dynamic energy to this EDGUY classic, making it an unforgettable listening experience."Oh if only Brazil was not so farFar away I would swim or walk or rideBut never ever fly ... The Origin of the Race to one Million Subscribers between Dan Vasc and Gary, aka NerdroticDan Vasc tells Eric July how the “Man Buns” bet came to be.Released: February 28, 2024 on Eric asks Dan how it all came to be. Dan discovered Gary around 2019. The first video he saw was about The Last Jedi. Many people discovered this fellowship during those days. Dan wondered if others felt the same about the new Star Wars movies. He searched YouTube for "The Last Jedi sucks" and found Gary. He watched one of Gary's live streams and then discovered Jeremy's G + G videos about the same topic. That's how their friendship started. Dan went on Friday Night Tights and even made their theme song "A Hail Friday Night Tights" that charted #1 on Amazon. They became very good friends. Like any male friends, they started talking trash to each other. On Twitter, it became a battle and a Coliseum for the audience to watch. Every time Dan talked trash about Gary, and Gary about Dan, the engagement was insane. One day Gary was talking shit to Dan on Twitter, and Dan decided to challenge him back. They were around 700,000 subscribers on YouTube both, and Dan knew that his next video "Amazing Grace" would go viral. So, Dan challenged Gary publicly on X to a race to 1 million subscribers. Rivalries like this are super fun when they are between friends. A friend who is also a rival can push you further. Dan says that Gary is a terrific YouTuber who makes it look more easy than it is. Gary accepted the challenge, and the trash talk got even stronger. The stakes were, If Dan would win, Gary would have to sing a Bon Jovi song. Because Gary hates Bon Jovi, and he is not a singer at all, and thinks it's the worst thing in the world since communism. If Gary would win, Dan would have to sing Gary's song "Man Buns Are Gay And So Am I". But Dan knew that if Gary would win, and Dan released a fantastic badass track to make a ton of money. Review: Dan Vasc - "The Song of the White Wolf" ft. Gabriel Belozi METAL COVERReleased January 10, 2020The lyrics vividly depict the solitary and cold nature of the White Wolf, Geralt of Rivia, the Witcher. Haunting lines like “Cast not your eyes upon him, lest he kiss you with his sword” warn against getting too close, whether through confrontation or intimacy. Geralt must be dangerous to be a protector, because what would a “nice” Witcher be but a harmless man seeking approval?Dan’s performance brings this poignant theme to life, evoking both awe and compassion for the warrior often seen as just a killer. His vocals are primal, powerful, and emotionally charged, showcasing not only his vocal mastery but also his ability to convey deep feelings through music. The seamless transitions between chest and head voice add unique texture, while his breath control and subtle nasal tone create a soaring, legato-rich flow. Gabriel Belozi’s guitar backing and his stunning solo perfectly complement Dan’s haunting vocals. Dan's interpretation starts close to the original but evolves into something undeniably his own, a breathtaking masterpiece. His voice creates an epic melody filled with power, emotion, and mythical grandeur, sending shivers down your spine. Deliberate roughness and staccato passages amplify the drama and intensity of the song. The balance of legato phrasing with dynamic shifts enriches the song’s storytelling nature. A mythical grandeur sends shivers down the spine. Dan Vasc - Number 1 Amazon charting metal singer, composer, youtuber and business owner.
