Did you know 1 in 5 people are diagnosed with a learning difference? This does not define their abilities and gifts. I am honored to be a part of the 1 in 5. While yes this can come with struggle, heartache, frustration and more the negative doesn’t hinder us from being able to advocate, celebrate and educate!!! by @lyderallylife

My Community Service Initiative: Celebrate Neurodiversity!!

When I think of a celebration, I think of a gift! Gift giving has always been my love language—I love finding something that makes someone feel seen, appreciated, and celebrated.

But I’ve realized that every person — we all come with our own gifts, too. We each have different strengths, talents, and ways of seeing the world.

That’s what Celebrate Neurodiversity is about: celebrating those differences and recognizing the unique gifts each of us brings.

I am a strong believer in no one can succeed in a space that isn’t designed for success. Often our education system tries to fit all individuals into a cookie cutter style format instead of customizing the learning experience to tailor to someone’s strengths or skillset.

I’ve always loved celebrating people! I consider it to be one of my greatest joys in life. I have friends who always used to say things like “She will cheer for you.” “Lydia is the loudest cheerleader in the room” “Need someone to cheer for you? Invite Lydia” and at first I didn’t understand the gravity of what they were saying.

Everyone wants their own cheerleader, someone to celebrate them, make them feel like they are the only person in the room. With my platform “Celebrate Neurodiversity” I hope to be this for someone else!

This month is all about celebrating for me! October reminds me how special it was to be celebrating for my unique gifts. At a young age I fell inlove with the idea of gift giving, celebrating, party planning and more! It taught me the joy of celebrating others and how important it is to see someone’s day light up when you take the time to celebrate them. Whether it’s day to day, their abilities, their school play, sports game or birthday! Showing up for people matters, and celebrating them makes them know they are special. by @lyderallylife

My dad’s birthday was yesterday! I absolutely love celebrating and even more my family and friends! I am so grateful to have a dad who intentionally created a space for me to be myself. Growing up ND I felt different but never did my parents make it seem like a bad thing. They constantly celebrated everything I did. Which is where my love for celebrating began 🩷✨ by @lyderallylife

Growing up neurodivergent and being diagnosed from a young age with 5 learning disabilities. A lot of people didn’t necessarily believe in me but those that did celebrated everything I did. They are my biggest advocates and or allies.

Celebration is such a sweet aspect of growing up and I want to celebrate every person and how God made them. My Community Service Initiative is to celebrate our unique gifts and talents. 🧁 by @lyderallylife

6 YEARS AGO THIS WEEK !!!! I was given the opportunity of a lifetime through @crownme_missecu organization to be crowned Miss East Carolina University 2020 and represent pirate nation. It was my very first pageant and sparked a passion in me for representing, advocating and strengthened my love service! I am so grateful for my time as Miss ECU and cannot believe how long it has been!! taken in East Carolina University by @lyderallylife

Miss NC Poultry Jubilee Pageant !!!❤️🐓

This past weekend I had the opportunity of competing for the title of Miss NC Poultry Jubilee! It was an absolute blast, I had the opportunity to share my heart with the judges in many ways in interview, talent and on stage. I was honored to walk away with The Overall Interview Award !!! Which means I scored the highest interview score of the day❤️

While I didn’t win, I learned so much about myself and the poultry industry. I was proud of everything I showed the judges. I was honored to learn from our very own new queen in many ways!! Congratulations Sarah Beth on the year of a lifetime! I am excited to see the impact you make on the festival and your sister queens!!

There are so many people who made it possible for me to compete!!

My parents — Thank you for believing in me, encouraging me and listening to my calls the hour and half drive home each Sunday. I love you and could never do this without you!

@wesley_smith_96 — Thank you for creating my dream recording for my talent, Her Story !! You brought my vision to light in so many ways.

All the local farms and farming families that worked with me prior to the pageant to feel prepared, confident and educated on the differences in how the farm I grew up on operates vs your own! I’ve loved getting to be a part of our community.

The amount of family and friends that encouraged me, purchased raffle tickets or donated to my ad page THANK YOU!!! Thank you for your endless prayers ❤️
