THIS is why I prefer to lead worship than any other genre. To see our generation love God with full abandon, not caring about pretense or formalities, but giving God the fullness of worship that He deserves is why I desire to use the gifts that God has given me for worship on Sundays and for retreats.

And yet even this display of worship still falls flat compared to what it will be like in heaven when we actually come face to face with our Heavenly Father and Creator!

To be a part of seeing children of God show their love for Him is one of the most beautiful sights to behold.

On Tuesday, 2/22/2022, @taylorkatinasphotography helped me honor two of the most wonderful women in my life: my grandmothers.

Though, truly, each grandparent was special to me and this photoshoot was really for all of them.

The dress was my paternal grandmother’s. The earrings were my maternal grandmother’s, and pink roses were her favorite flower.

This was a fun photoshoot and the entire time I just kept thinking, “I hope you see how much I love you all.”

Thank you for teaching me so much. I’m honored to be your granddaughter. 🤍

It’s been over a week since my birthday and I have had so much to reflect on this last year of my life.

31 was a hard year. I faced a lot of disappointments, fear, and a lot of changes. It’s hard not to feel discouraged after facing so many “failures” in my life this last year. It’s also hard not to compare myself with others and remember that God has created me with a purpose unique to who He created me to be. I have often let my fear dictate my actions, especially when certain passion projects didn’t turn out the way I had hoped for.

But—praise the Lord—God provided me with an amazing community here in Tennessee (pictured here and not)! The kind of community that prays for me, encourages me, loves me for who I am, reminds me WHO I am, and friends I can have fun and be completely myself around. Even the friendships I have in other corners of the world who are always there whenever I may need a listening ear. I am INCREDIBLY blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people. My family is included in this.

I would not be who I am today without the people God has placed in my life.

I can’t say that year 31 was my favorite. In fact, it was probably one of my least. However, there were many moments of joy in the midst of trials, that I can’t help but praise God still for this past year. I have made it another year—heck! Another day! I am blessed with a beautiful church in which I get to serve and be served. I get to work in a place where I work and meet wonderful people every single day. I have passions that God gave me in which I can use to be a light to others.

And, ultimately, I am loved by the Father, saved by His Son, and I have His Holy Spirit dwelling in me. Although I am FAR from perfect, this year is just another moment passing from glory to glory.

I trust that God has a plan for my life. Far greater than I could ever plan for myself. This year was a moment where I let fear dictate my life and my choices, but God allowed that to happen for growth. Whatever comes my way for my 32nd year, I pray that God would bring more opportunities for growth in my life, no matter if it may be pleasant or not. by @lydssummer

2025 has come to an end and these are just a few highlights of what God has done in my life.

To be honest, I’ve faced a lot of disappointment, have felt like a failure, and have a lot more questions than answers right now, but God has shown me His grace by providing a wonderful family, a church that preaches Truth, and a community of people that has continued to grow and blossom over the year. I have felt so blessed to be surrounded by such incredible people and to have the assurance of faith in God that, without Him, life would have no meaning or purpose.

So even though this year looked different than I had anticipated, my life still has purpose. God has shown Himself to me in the small things so many times, and has shown me just how much He cares for His children (even when the world may look and tell us otherwise), and I am honored to be His servant.
