After an emotional evening a word from the boss:

“I am thrilled and honoured that Michelin feel that we deserve this award. Like many chefs, I have followed the guide my whole adult life and in many ways it’s shaped my career and who I am.

A massive thank you to my spectacular team at Lyla, and of course the group at large. I’m very lucky to have such amazing people around me. And of course to all our guests for supporting us over the years.

This industry can come under fire at times, it’s a tough business, but I believe it’s a brilliant career choice. I managed to work myself up from washing dishes to owning a group of successful restaurants in our capital city, Edinburgh, a city which I love. It was such a pleasure to welcome @chef.stuart.ralston and the @lylaedinburgh team to @frogbyah for our second 4 Hands Dinner of the series. I have so much respect for what Stuart and his team are doing up in my homeland, so getting to cook together and share the evening with everyone who joined us was a real privilege.

Edinburgh’s fine dining spot Lyla has added something new to the menu at its Georgian townhouse: not a dish, but four beautifully curated rooms, where guests can stay overnight after enjoying the restaurant's 10-course Scottish seafood tasting menus.
