Only 3 pieces of jewelry have ever had the power to make me cry.

The first - a plastic "princess" ring my eldest son gave me when he was a child. He had overheard me once saying how much I wanted one as a child. It bothered him deeply that my mother wouldn't let me have it. So he bought me one for my birthday.

The second - my engagement ring. The look on my husband's face when he proposed to me is engraved in my soul.

The third - this bracelet, designed and created in Palestine. The stones hand picked from my family's original hometown, high in the Galilee mountains, north of Jerusalem. Stones from a place that Jesus Christ Himself named "the city on a hill".

I will be wearing all 3 when I ride the train from Damascus to Jerusalem.

It doesn't matter that there hasn't been a train route like that in 100 years.

It doesn't matter that all of hell is aligned against it.

There will be another train from Damascus to Jerusalem.

And we will ride it together.

And I will be wearing my jewelry.

I've been alive half of a century

I feel closer to the vampire Lestat than I ever have 😂

But all jokes & botox aside

I've learned alot over the years

More importantly, I unlearned alot more

The main thing that has stayed with me is how precious Life is

How fleeting

Yet, strangely, the deeper I fall in love with Life, the more willing I am to lay my own down

That - I learned from the Master Himself, the man who called Himself, The Way, The Truth and The Life

More than anything, my hope is for you - to experience that kind of power

I heard a loud alarm blaring from a nearby resort

It was jarring and so completely out of place in such a serene beautiful spot

I wanted to delete my videos and start again

I was trying to capture the atmosphere of this... Presence that met me there every morning

I've been chasing this "Presence" for decades... it shows up without notice and disappears despite many attempts to hold on to it

The strongest I experienced it was almost 27 years ago half way around the world

I was on the most beautiful beach on earth, watching a spectacular sunset. But I might as well have been in hell

I was cornered. To all appearances I was young..free and full of promise. In reality I was a slave. The walking dead. With absolutely no way out of the maze of torment I had repeatedly walked myself into

And there was this.. alarm. This blaring unquenchable ringing in my soul that I couldn't medicate, suffocate or escape

I had tried everything to turn it off. I tried everything except listening to it

Because the alarm was telling me something no reasonable person could accept

It was telling me that I was doomed. That there was nothing and no one on this earth that could save me or change my situation

Who can accept that?

And then one night I was walking along the beach as I had done many nights before

And suddenly there was this Presence. Distinct. Overwhelming yet not intrusive. I had not seriously sensed it since I was a child

And in the midst of hopelessness, despair and destruction...this Presence made me an offer. An offer to turn darkness into light. Power from despair and to create life out of nothing

I couldn't understand that, but the moment this Presence appeared I believed it wholeheartedly

The moment I accepted the offer, the alarm was finally silenced

Almost 3 decades later strolling along a beach in peace as my family sleeps I am reminded of that alarm, that beach so long ago

I have spent almost 3 decades watching this Presence that underlies everything we see, create beauty upon beauty, despite the darkness and in spite of the Evil that rules the world

And so I decide not to delete my videos by @lylanadda
