“My daddy needed surgery.”
Hearing the news left me shocked, But put me in a mindset of complete surrenderance. In the past I’ve sacrificed thousands of dollars and time into others that when the opportunity present itself to sacrifice more. I didn’t hesitate. I left my home, The lights went off & the fridge ran empty. But God kept my home. I had to sacrifice my career to be a temporary Caretaker with no income. But if you ask me today if I’d do it all over again…
Yes! This man has spent his entire life sacrificing and pushed me into a deeper level of understanding and healing in relation to my birth mother. I grew up on the beach where My daddy worked on cargo ships.Year after year. The salt, the wind, the sun, and the harsh conditions slowly took a toll on his body. His health has deteriorated over the years, and eventually he lost his eyesight. Yes my dad is blind.
But you wouldn’t hear him complain about anything! There’s no one more happy to be alive than this man. My dad combats his immune system every day!
As a little girl, there was so much I didn’t understand.I didn’t know there were nights my daddy went without eating so I could.
This is a man who literally went to prison for me. Although that’s another testimonial.
The love and protection I carried as a child was honored by a man who ignored the weight on himself. This year’s fashion event, put things into perspective for me; I wasn’t broke,broken or falling behind! THIS IS WHAT @fashion_and_hope DOES! People can slander or falsely accuse, but they only see parts of season, they never see the sacrifices that are made. And this is a foundation that has the back of every person with a testimony like mine! It isn’t just a runway. This platform reminds people they are seen in the middle of medical battles, disabilities, and life’s hardest moments. This year, that became my family’s story. I’ve fought for my own life because of a lung condition. This year I fought for my daddy’s health. To God be all the glory.

💜 Chapter 27. 🤍✨

This year taught me that restoration doesn’t always happen in the places we expect it. Sometimes we’re still praying over certain things while God is quietly healing, correcting and aligning what we thought was broken beyond repair.
I’ve learned that obedience requires surrender, forgiveness doesn’t always mean reconciliation, and trusting God’s timing means finding peace even when some prayers remain unanswered.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11
