This is the most excited I’ve been to design in a while.

This is some of the work I’ve been up to — and hey if you feel so inclined to sign up for circles, baptisms, and check us out at Gateway— here is my shameless plug for you to do so😉

I got to work a lot in After Effects — utilized some @sundayscreens for backgrounds — usually these are used for LED elements but it occurred to me that they could be used for backgrounds and designing posts in AE and exporting stills.

Could I have created a lot of that from scratch? Yes, but I had a lot to get done and would rather put the effort into design composition rather than time and efforts in the backgrounds.

Anyhow, didn’t want to gate-keep— so if you design for a church and you are already using these worship visuals why not purpose them and work smarter not harder?

I’m still learning A LOT in AE but it’s projects like these that actually make it a joy to learn and create. by @lynmcleod

The ultimate artist⚜️

I live in a painting
where the sunset’s just so,
and the lighting emanates
the subtlest of glow.

Here no architect built these homes
to be admired by the eye,
only workers of the land
who sought a place to lie.

Yet somehow,
God framed the ordinary in its splendor.
With the mountains there behind—
Using colors no man could render.

Maybe with His fingers,
and maybe with a brush,
God crafted something beautiful
with the Creator’s touch.

Let it not be lost on me
when I wander in the dirt,
and forget the fullness of the picture—

that You’re God,
the Grandest of Artists,
who places every beauty
in proper measure.

Fearing the Lord leads you to flea from what steals true satisfaction.

I used to walk with lies; thinking “living holy” meant missing out.
Yet, the farther I got from the things that once led me,
the clearer their faces became.

“I’ve walked with the Devil,
yet I didn’t recognize his face.
Because every time I tried to glance,
he measured up my pace.

And I finally could tell
when I got further away.
Now, since I’m set apart from hell,

Show me your ways…

Faith takes an abstract path.

This design came from the thought that God, in His mercy, often gives us the next step instead of the full picture; because seeing too far ahead might crush us instead of preparing us.

Sometimes guidance looks less like certainty…
and more like walking.

One of the quickest ways to lose peace is to start guessing motives.

I’ve spent more time than I’d like to admit trying to figure out what people “really meant,” why they said something, whether they were jealous, offended, threatened, or hiding something.

The problem is that God never gave us access to another person’s heart.
He did, however, tell us to pay attention to fruit.

Sometimes wisdom isn’t learning to read minds;

Jealousy crouches at the door.
Comparison whispers.
Entitlement keeps score.
Yet God speaks a single word:

I want to want You in the quiet kind of way not just in the practice of obedience but in reflections of the day

I want to seek You when no one else can see when prayer is not a platform and no song comes out of me

I want to love You past the task list in my head past the verses I keep quoting but forget are daily bread

And if my heart is scattered
if my thoughts refuse to stay in line
then teach me how to be honest
