The Great Glue Stick Debate: Italy vs. Japan! 🇮🇹🇯🇵

I’ve been experimenting with two glue sticks for my daily collage practice, and both get the job done. But there are some differences!

🇮🇹 Coccoina (Italy): A solvent-free glue stick that goes on clear, glides smoothly, and feels lighter on the paper. Easy to use and great for layering.

🇯🇵 GLOO (Japan): A clever square-shaped glue stick designed to get right into corners and along edges. The adhesive is purple so you can see exactly where you’ve applied it, then dries clear. It’s a bit thicker going on.

The verdict? Both are winners, but Coccoina gets my vote for everyday collage, especially for my travel art kit. I love how smoothly it applies.

My daily collage practice uses only materials I find around the house. No fancy papers or special supplies, just whatever is available glued into my @louisecarmenparis journal.

And finally, a good use for the endless political mailers inundating our mailbox! 🗳️✂️

More to come on this project!

Week 2 of becoming an Alchemist @campbellandcarr. Tonight we were introduced to three new herbs, made a second tincture, drank a delicious tea, learned how the moon phases influence our creations, and created our own historic herbal infusion. Sign up for the next session! You will not regret it. by @lynnherrickart

Where I started (thank you Tandi and @jamies.art.reverie for working on this with me, love having art friends!) … and where I ended up. This commission is headed to Chicago for a very important collector (and my son) @bennyherrick. by @lynnherrickart

Just dropped off this fun, vibrant, textured painting @covetartgallery for the upcoming In Flux show. Inspired by @mary.behnam.art, I am asking for votes on which way you think it should be hung. Please vote in the comments and check out the, always engaging, exhibition that starts Saturday. taken in Carlsbad, California by @lynnherrickart

In January when I had surgery there were 2 things I was not sure I would ever do again: paint something big and a headstand.

I did both this week @woodward.contemporary with all my new art friends and amazing inspiration and guidance from @knaut_contemporary

This piece, “trust” is a big, bold achievement and is being featured in the art show beginning this Saturday! My other works on raw canvas are stacked as a cushion for my headstand, and I look forward to sharing them in the future.

Come check it out! taken in Old Town, San Diego by @lynnherrickart

I forgot how fun it is to see your art hanging on the wall in an art gallery. Thank you @omaartistalliance and @sparksgallery for the opportunity. And a special shout out to my art buddy @jamies.art.reverie for going with me! by @lynnherrickart
