I am missing you so much today mom. It’s been 4 years since you left us. I know you left the way you wanted to. But for me it was at least two decades too soon. We didn’t get to plan those trips with Melissa and me and you; like you did with your mom and sisters in your 50’s. Allison was 20 and I was just about ready to start having more time for myself.

Melissa and I have taken two trips together since you left. One to Oregon and one to Maui. And we talked about you every day. The first one we were lazing around a townhouse and we spent hours reminiscing and sharing stories. We’re leaving Tuesday for another trip. We’ll get to see our Palm Springs family and attend a Flat Retreat with other breast cancer Survivor’s who’ve gone flat. I know you would have gone with me too. You loved attending anything you could with me. Women’s retreats with my church, hair show with our cosmetologists, and so many homeschool conventions where you took notes and learned what you could about this bizarre adventure I was taking you on. Going to Tommy (& Allison’s) appointments with the neurodevelopmentalist that helped with their learning disabilities.

I’m at a house this weekend with John and all the kids. We’re at the ocean and we have a patio overlooking the ocean. We’re going to sleep to the sound of waves crashing on the beach. I know you would have loved this too! You loved the ocean. It’s probably why it is so important to me. I miss you mom. Happy birthday. You would have been 77. I miss you so much it hurts. I’ll hug my kids a little more today as I think of you.

For my friends and family. Here are a few pictures from this amazing trip we’re on this weekend. I planned it knowing we’d be gone on mom’s birthday. I didn’t realize how hard it would be. Again. It gets easier. It does. But I miss her so much! The first picture is the last day I saw her. The day before she died.

It was such a blessing to travel to the island of Maui with my sister. 🤙 We drove all over the island and even tackled the Road to Hana! We chased waterfalls, swam wherever we could, and got our feet in the sand every single day. We sipped Mai Tais with POG in the evenings and Espresso Martinis in the mornings. We laughed constantly, watched sunsets on the beach, and soaked in every bit of God’s beauty around us. This is just a glimpse of all the memories we made! 🌴🌺🌅

What an incredible time we had in Cabo last week. We went whale watching for one of our excursions. It was incredible how many whales we saw! by @lynnlynetteb

Allison - I love you so bad! I hope you have an amazing 22nd birthday and a great year to come! You’re my fiery Leo and I’m so proud of you and I plan to cherish the heck out of you today!!! All my love - your mom! by @lynnlynetteb

🗣️People will literally try to make you feel bad about helping your GROWN kids, but how do you as a parent sit back and watch your child struggle?? ( Not gonna)😒😒 I don't care how old mine get I will always be THAT parent!!! Car broke down??.... Come get mine til' we get yours fixed!…… you need a place to stay, let me get (your old room) ready, it's yours until you get on your feet! You’re hungry, foods always here!! I will not leave my child out there to be homeless, because the struggle was too hard for them! At some point we grow up especially when we know we are all they got! If mama ain't got it, trust me, she's gonna go out there & get it (even if it takes her a minute)... my children will be mine even after they turn 60 or more, even when if we as parents feel forgotten at times. Until my last breath, I will always be there however I can!
*Copy & Paste if you are that parent too!*

I’m celebrating my last infusion today! It’s been a little over 13 months of fighting cancer. I have 5+ years of meds to go, but the infusions are done and that is an important milestone! John, Katelyn and I went to dinner to celebrate! I’m happy today, but I’m so sad too. One of my kids’ very good friends - the beautiful, inspirational, loving, kind, supportive @_willowgray passed away over the weekend at the young age of 22! I was lucky enough to see her perform in shows at CMT as a teen and see her grow up into an amazing young woman! Danny first brought her into our family, but she was also loved deeply by Allison and Katelyn. One of my “chosen sons” Tyler has been living in NYC near her and their good friend Kyle. These two strong young men have been having to make decisions the last few days that nobody their age should have to deal with for a peer! Please send them love, prayers & hugs as they continue to walk through these next few days, weeks, months, years without Willow. 💔 I was reading through several pages of our IG chats and she was always so loving and kind. She was also fun and funny. And an amazing big sister to Allison - always including her when she was a pre-teen who wanted to be with the big kids! You will be forever missed Willow and your light will shine through those of us who were lucky to be loved by you! ❤️ by @lynnlynetteb
