Excited to be selected as a finalist for the American prize in composition, instrumental chamber music division. Check out my piano trio “The Speed of Light” recorded by the @galantrio on my YouTube channel! The piece explores many different colors, speeds and emotions navigating through its ABCA’B’C’ form. It was a joy to compose, especially the responses to the first three sections, and also working with such outstanding pro musicians. Great laughs and fun in the studio but also exceptional focus and determination.

Excited to play this show tomorrow with @jae.ci and to share some of our original songs. Grateful for a platform to promote a secular society that values inclusiveness, equality and freedom of/from religion taken in Newton, Massachusetts by @m.b.konigsmark

Modal interchange creates more color and contrast to the chords. There are also interesting chromatic contours to be found. I continue to experiment with the dynamic impact that different vowel sounds can make and how they affect the tone and timbre of the music. Enjoy this new trio I composed and stay tuned for more!

Here is a 5 voice chorale I just finished. I really wanted to push my range from the very bottom to top to see how far I could go on the extremes. The chords change on every beat, all parts have the same rhythm but always a different note!

I recently composed this motet for 3 voices in the late medieval Notre Dame style. I chose the ‘Ee’ syllable for majority of the piece and switched to ‘Ah’ at the very end to enhance the effect of the double leading tone cadence. I wanted it to feel like the tension from the penultimate measure was literally being released into a final state of perfection! taken in Newton, Massachusetts by @m.b.konigsmark

Headed to NYC with @intothelightensemble to record this at @garyselectricstudio at the end of the month!
I’m thrilled to be working with @jae.ci , @nathanhalbur.music , @henrygodfreymusic and @familyjules6544 to bring together our third EP.
I have been working on and composing the 4 songs for the EP since February and can’t wait to share all the work and collaboration that has come into it. It’s going to be bright and colorful but also dark and moody, drenched in vocal harmonies and supported with intricate instrumental texture, and original lyrics. Couldn’t be more proud to be making art and to show all that we can say and express through music! taken in Newton, Massachusetts by @m.b.konigsmark
